Memorex is a bad brand to use. Also, DarkMod swears that you should be using -R and not +R. I have been using +R but recently switched. Get better discs.

I have to agree with trE. Memorex is the worst brand I ever purchased. I ended up having to throw away more than the amount used. At least thats my experience with them.

Though it may work it is not good for your system. You want to be using dvd-r , its the format the reads best on these types of dvd drives.
The next thing is you want to use high quality media. Using memorex you're using very low quality dye. The laser will be stressing to read this and overtime you will lose the ability to read your games. The only ones that will work if you're lucky will be high quality ones or originals. So stick to higher quality media now and save yourself from pain later.

They may work fine now, but one thing most people fail to realize is just because it works right away doesn't mean it's good quality media. I used to burn movies almost exclusively on Memorex media, before I found out it was utter crap and switched to Verbatim exclusively. Almost all of my older movies burned onto Memorex media have read problems now in all my DVD players, even though there are little to no scratches.

You're better off sticking with high quality media from the get go, because the quality of media also greatly influences the longevity of your burns. It's not worth buying cheap media if you just have to re-burn everything 6 months from now.

I find Verbatim DVD-R and DVD+R discs on sale all the time, about $20-$23 for 100, which is a pretty damn good deal. They go on sale quite frequently at Best Buy and Office Max.

*EDIT* One other thing about burning games. I have a Wasabi V3 chipped (soldered) D2C2 Wii and have been burning games at 16x on Verbatim DVD-R media using my LiteOn burner and have had no problems. Having to burn games at slow burn speeds for a system to read them is not a sign of a problem with the system, it's a sign of crappy media. I scan my burned discs occasionally with KProbe2 and I always get phonomenal write quality with Verbatim media. As long as you get good quality burns, it does't matter what speed you burn at. If you have to burn at slow speeds to produce a readable disc, you either need to get a higher quality burner, or switch to higher quality media, or both.

    Hail to the king, baby!

    D2C2-equipped Wii + Wasabi V3 = I love Nintendo! (and big boobs)

i only purchased verbatim +r(dual layer) for ssbb. For the rest, i found high quality inkjet printable verbatim dvd-r 100 pack for only $30! It was an amazing deal. U can't get them online because they show up to ur house all scratched up and u end up paying $10 - 20 more then u wanted to for them. I got mine at the local walmart for a very good price.
    I am the SSBB master...
