    Same thing. cIOS38rev14 = cIOS249rev14 = IOS249Rev14. rev14 basically.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I unbricked my wii with this
The only thing I could do was: open the homebrew channel via the boot2<< it started automatic when the wii starts up, before the black screen comes.
and run de safe update 4.1
when it was finisht everyting workt as normal and the homebrew ch. still worked;p
(maybe a good tip for the ones how bricked theire wii this way)

I get as far as updating the firmware to 4.1 but if fails with an error code -1036 on installing the 'System Menu 4.1E'. I did a search for 1036 and got to this post.

When I try to download cIOS249r14 from the link provided, it says its gone. Can someone please provide me with another download link so I can continue.
That error codes usually signals that you either forgot or did not successfully install IOS60patched.wad first before trying to run FW4.1updater.

Many thanks junkmailturds. The only confusing thing was figuring out where cIOS38rev14 = cIOS249rev14.

Great post and thanks for the help. However, for the noobs around here like me, it might be worth updating your post to reflect that cIOS38rev14 = cIOS249rev14.

    What you will need:

    a) Homebrew Channel already installed

    b) cIOS249r14

    c) Waninkokos firmware updater 4.1

    d) Patched IOS60

    e) 300+ free blocks in your Wii memory

Copy the app and wad to your SD card and do the following:

    1) Install cIOS249 rev14.

    2) Install IOS60patched.wad with wad manager.

    3) Restart your Wii.

    4) Now run Waninkokos Firmware-Updater_4.1 and follow any prompts until it's finished.

You will now have System menu 4.1 with most of your homebrew working and the ability to play pirate wads off of your SD card. If you really want the shop channel then install it offline with these wads.
After I do this can I delete the 4.1 updater off of my sd card?
