could be but that I think you have to go into the sd card menu to bring up boot.dol what I had was a menu that came on the instant you turned on the wii which allowed me to go to the homebrew browser and make a backup of the wii system menu on my sd card. It comes on before the wii system menu and now non of my usb loader programs want to recognize my drive..........

I'm new to this Hombrew stuff ,always had an Argon chip in mine but recently installed the Homebrew channel as well, worked fine using NeoG 4 and all my recent games stared to work ,was only on 3.1e ,then updated to 3.2e but Sport Resort I hear needs 4.1 frmware to work properly, I'm just getting black screen if I try normal disk boot or it totally reboots the Wii if I try through NG4 ,I know Neo Gamma can be updated to a later version, but I don't know if this will make Sports Resort work or not. I've read through the list of things to do,got all the neccessary files needed for the update, now this is where I'm not sure,so few simple answers for me please if you can:

    1. Is this update safe for modded Wii's
    2. Is this safe for a Pal console (it doesn't say anything about regions anywhere)
    3. Do I still install exactly all the same files as I'm modded already with chip
    4. Would I be safer updating through Nintendo to 4.1e(never been on web with this Wii) so don't know how that one works(could soon find out)
    5. Should I definately make the Nand backup before continuing
    6. I take it this is an offline upgrade(only I have another 4.1 updater that needs internet)

Don't know if your a friendly forum towards people with Modchips but homebrew was only just kicking off when mine was done so the homebrew channel has only just been added to it. So if any kindly soul could give me some good answers ,the kids can get on trying out their new motion plus controllers in Sports Resort.I know there are ways around all of these problems without updating to 4.1, but I don't want to come home to find the kids have updated via a game and messed everything up, that's why I was thinking of doing the update to 4.1 so that the kids can just stick in a game and play it, no Homebrew for them or Neogamma etc etc, but I can leave it on the Wii, for other bits and pieces that I may want.So for ease of life update to 4.1 for safe kid playing or leave on 3.2 and take the later games away from kids unless I'm there to boot them?

Just had a nasty turn trying to read that post.

Are you asking for help or are you providing help to someone else? It's hard to tell.

Don't think you got any resolution out of your answers.

WSR needs comes with 3.4 and a few IOS updates. WSR will reboot until you load the alternate dol option in Neogamma that allows you to watch the WM+ video. Check out the long WSR thread on here for pointers.

    1. Is this update safe for modded Wii's
    Yes.
    2. Is this safe for a Pal console (it doesn't say anything about regions anywhere)
    Yes.
    3. Do I still install exactly all the same files as I'm modded already with chip
    Yes.
    4. Would I be safer updating through Nintendo to 4.1e(never been on web with this Wii) so don't know how that one works(could soon find out)
You can do that but it's better to use Waninkoko's 4.1 updater.
    5. Should I definately make the Nand backup before continuing
If you can go for it, it'll only take a few minutes and gives some reassurance.
    6. I take it this is an offline upgrade(only I have another 4.1 updater that needs internet)
Most updates require internet access on your Wii, it's often easier to allow these installers to use Network access to fetch files.
