Do you guys know if it's normal for the Home Menu to show up when loading NES games? No other VC games have this problem for me.

Yeah, didn't seem that way. What I did was install Waninkokos firmware updater 4. Then, I did IOS60patched.wad after installing 4.0. I didn't know it was supposed to go this way on the thread. Not sure if I should redo all the steps again? I have a LU64 Wii, so installing cIOS is a no right now, at least from the SoftMii team.

    Talking Noobie Questions

Ok, Now I have read this whole topic now I have to ask a noob question.

I have wii v 3.1u installed with HBC 1.03, softmod

Is this guide from DoggEggs to best to use from my version of software to update to 4.0?

What I did already was follow this guide, Hacking the Wii v2.0 - Static-Blog

Even though it was for 4.0 I still installed it, and I am still running v3.1u and everything seems to work, except I can't get the usb Harddrive to recognize my hard drive. After reading this topic, I learned that I have to try another, since not all hard drives are supported.

Now knowing this, it is safe to use this guide?

I have not started playing backed up games yet, but I have newer games on ISO that I want to play and thought I better update my wii version, but I don't have access to the internet at my house, and can't bring my Wii to school.

    Thanks in advance.

    Little trouble..

    I'm on 3.2U. I had Homebrew 1.0 (probably) and Wadmanager 1.0.
    I updated all of my IOS's 38 53 55 249rev9 and 60.
    I rebooted.
I tried to install the 4.0 update boot.dol, it loads to "initializing network". Then it goes to a code dump.

I updated my hb channel to 1.3, and then updated my wm to 1.4, reinstalled all my wads including and specifically the above.
retried the 4.0 wankikos again, same code dump.

    ...any help?
I'm going through a router right now, wired. I'm going to give a try at bypassing the router and going ethernet direct to the modem but outside of that I don't know what else to try... Anything you wonderful community of humans can give me is much appreciated!

    **New Info - Same problem**
The issue doesn't appear to be network related. I bypassed my router and I get to the dump more quickly now. Before it would say initializing network for about 2-3 seconds. Now it's a split second and goes to dump.

    **Further new info**
I realized that I had installed ios249 rev9 not rev 8. Thinking this may be the problem i tried to uninstall 60 and 249 rev 9, but was given an error on attempting to uninstall each. I was also given an error attempting to install rev8...so....

    **Last one I promise***
Fantastic news, I answered my own question. I used Any Title Deleter to remove 249 rev 9, installed rev 8, the update went through and I'm even able to use the shop channel.

    THANKS!
