that kinda confirms that we don't have to have the SD card in the wii to play, since the only thing it needed the card for was the usb loader.
once question tho.. I tried the games in with uLoader, and they worked fine.. the only game i couldn't get to work was Rockband 2. any ideas?
However, if you have the WAD's on your SD card (so YES you need to keep SD card in system) you can use the SD/USB Configruable loader to launch RB2.
RB 2 is my fav game thus far (or the music ones of course), so it is annoying that uLoader and USBLoader GX wont work like others - Any Idea's forum????
Also - anyone else experiencing some blank black screens when trying to load the configurable SD/HDD Loader wad?? Some times it works, other not??? (Im loading it from Homebrew channel - noob question, but how or is it possible to make that wad a channel?? Happy for PM to be sent with instructions)
Thank for the reply - I have the usb Configruable loader in my homebrew channel (along with wad manger 1.5 and CIOS 222 installer). Ive used it until I worked out my work around for GX (see post on page 19)
Some times when I try and load the usb Configruable loader, I get just a black screen (and the wii remote blinks its light), then some other times it will work. More often than not it wont though.
Is there a way to run the usb Configruable loader without having to go into homebrew?? (for example: I have USB loader GX installed as a channel (the dude who modded my wii for me did the install)

FIRST YOU NEED TO COPY ALL THE CONTENT INSIDE THE "COPY TO ROOT OF SD" TO SD CARD THEN YOU FOLLOW THESE STEPS

2 - Read the warning message and push A
3 - Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
4 - Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select Use IOS38 merged with IOS37
5 - Wait for download and installation to complete
6 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
7 - Select IOS249 "again" to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
8 - This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60
8 - Start the Homebrew Channel and run Wad manager 1.5
9 - select USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder-UCXF.wad and install on ios 249
10 - Quit wad manager, quit homebrew channel.
11 - Now, in your wii system menu look for USB loader CFG channel, click on it and Start it!
12 - prees B so it can show the list of your games
12 - find and Select GH5 game
13 - press 1 on the control
14 - scroll down until u selected ISO: set it to use ios 222-mload
15 - click A to start game (there should be a green line acros the screan for a couple secounds, its good) and the game should load then ROCK ON!!! XD
16 - dont take out the sd card just leave it in your wii

HOPE IT HELPED YOU =] oh and im using ROCK BAND DRUMS/GUITAR/MIC
New user, first post. I joined a while back and with the easy to find help of various tutorials successfully softmodded my brand new wii.
I am on system 4.2, installed hbc and bootmii via bannerbomb. Using Hermes cIOS installer v4 I was able to get access to a USB HDD for use with USB Loader GX and uLoader (various versions tested).
Today I branched out to Rock Band 2. The game loaded fine, brand new third party guitar controller works fine. Logitech mic (included with High School Musical Sing it! but same version packaged with Rock Band & confirmed to work with RB2) does not work. Game will state that a mic is not plugged in.
I've gone up and down this site trying various fixes, reinstalling cIOSs and force loading under different IOSs.
Most recent attempt included installing CFG USB Loader to wii channel menu, force loading RB2 in IOS 222mload. cIOS install of 222(set to 38/37), and 223(set to 38 and 60).
Nothing has worked at all. Mic is confirmed to be working via retrieval of Product/Vendor ID on my laptop. What do I do?
Booskilla, you are a legend, thanks so much.
