Autodesk Maya vs Autodesk 3DS Max vs Cinema 4D vs Blender

    Hello everyone,

I am thinking about investing into a 3D modeling software, and there are tons of choices out there. I put a few that are worth mentioning in the title, and I wonder if any of you has used them, or if you've used any others that are really nice.

    -Thanks!

Blender is a little tricky to use but it's free. Autodesk 3ds Max...I only know that the Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 project uses it as a 3-d visual for creating custom levels. Autodesk Maya...I'm pretty sure it's like Blender except...you need to have a huge wad of cash. It's an animation software I think...

I am on the Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 forum.

Thanks for responding! I know others cost a lot, so I decided to go and learn Blender. I love the Fluid Dynamics and Smoke Sim. It works VERY well!

I have also seen the SMG 2.5 project and the results are AWESOME! The animation is so real, it looks like an actual video game.

    Thanks!

If you are a student and prepared to download Autodesk 3ds Max and design and Autodesk Maya can be downloaded for free from AutoDesk website. Try Download Center

Your welcome. The SMG 2.5 project isn't an animation though... It's the actual thing...

Sorry, I thought you were talking about Super Blender Galaxy. It's a Blender Game Engine project.
I have checked out the 2.5 project, and the ideas seem extremely creative.

    Adrian,

Thanks for telling me about the free Autodesk products! I really appreciate it.
Thank to all of you guys.
