Question Apple Mac Mini

Hey all,

I am think of buying the Mac mini but I was wondering if it is a good choice as I run many thnigs at once everyday like,

MSN
Firefox or somtimes Google Chrome
Spotify
Word processor
Keynote
Photoshop
illstrator

Above are the things I run everyday but just want to get something new lol and the Mac mini is attractive to me as it saves alot of space.

So my Question is would it cope running the programmes above at once for most of the day and everyday

Many Thanks

Okay, I have an iMac at home and a white Macbook for work. Here's what you should consider.

1. A new Mac Mini will be released by Apple in about 2-6 wks.
2. A Mac Mini with 1 gig RAM is slow for PS and Illustrator. Meaning you can still running these apps, but will be slow.
3. A Mac Mini with 2 gig RAM is $800. If your going to spend that money, just buy the white Macbook. Yes, its more, but to upgrade the Mini, its harder than a Macbook.
4. An updated white Macbook is also going to be released by Apple soon.

Basically, a Macbook may be better and just wait a few weeks before you buy. Apple is going to release updates to each of the products and the price will be the same and you'll be getting more out of them.

I completely understand. Well, this is how I would think about it. Are you looking at long term or just a few years to keep your Mac? I ask, because the Mini, is cool and all, but to upgrade it is a bitch. If you get a Macbook, its easy to upgrade. But maybe, just maybe, Apple will boost the speed, memory, etc of the Mini in a few weeks and surprise us all. If they do, then the Mini might be the best choice for you.

Hah, if you wanna spend 2k, get the 24" iMac. A newer iMac is also going to be released soon. Sort of a re-design, from what I read.

Also, consider this. If Apple updates the Mini, Macbook and iMac, the current prices of these Macs will be reduced a bit. Maybe a few hundred at the most, but still it'd save you money.

With the Imac it's harder to upgrade in my opinon not upgrading the RAM as it is where the speakers are at the bottom but I mean everthing else, like you have to take out the screen as behind that there is the harddrive and ect but I belve it is much more easier with the Mac mini.

So that is what I am going to do, I will wait a couple of weeks see what happens and if another mac mini comes out I get that.

Thanks for the help and I have thanked your post lol

Ah...very true, very true about the iMac. Memory is the only thing easy to upgrade.
