Ac adapter wire cut

did'nt no were to post this so i put it here..My gameboy advance ac adapter wire got bit by my rabbit this happened before with my psp's but i just taped the copper wire together & it worked,tried that with gba charger did'nt work so i need to no exactly what copper wire to connect together there are some in a green tube & outside ones & they both have cotton or somthing white & fluffy in it..?
