If you have the Sundriver with the internal HDD, how does that impact on the firmware of the Wii, can you just update the firmware via Wii and be happy? I guess what I am wanting to know if Sundriver messes with the formware of the wii in anyways and this makes legit updating impossible?

I just want to play downloaded games via HDD, I have no need for hombrew, getting the Wii to play movies and all the other shait so Sundriver seems sweet for me.

Sundriver does not have anything to do with the wii system menu so you can upgrade all you want. The only downside to upgrading system menu is if you go past 4.1 to 4.2 you will not be able to play other region games.

That sounds great, Sundriver really seems to fit my needs perfectly.

How do you update the Sundriver firmware when and if needed, is that done via PC via the USB? I assume that some of the newer or upcoming games will require updating the Wii firmware to the newest version, 4.2 and higher at one point. Are there any possible specifk Sundriver problems with regards to this? I mean removing the DVD and replacing it with a HDD kinda makes it impossible to play anything legit on the Wii ever again so future proff it is kinda important as much as possible.

All games out at the moment will run on 4.1.If you are on 4.1 dont upgrade as its not needed.
The Sundriver is firmware upgradable with the nero usb programmer dongle.with nero dual programmer, download the manual in my sig.
    I highly recommend the Sundriver.
