How About A Donation Link?

I've seen this done on some other sites and think it might be a good idea for here too. How about a Paypal donation link where you can donate money to Fatal to help with the cost of running the site and to go towards items to be given away in contests? It would be a nice gesture since Fatal put out money from his own pocket for the Wii contest so it would help to offset the costs. It would not be mandatory to donate but it would be a nice way to show your appreciation.
Maybe if you have any unwanted video game items that you want to giveaway as contest prizes here, or sell on Ebay to make a small donation to the site that would be a nice thing to do to. What does everyone think about this idea?

yea, why not, a paypal donation link wouldn't hurt anything. but it might be difficult to give games to the site.

Maybe the person who wants to donate the game can start the contest and send it him or herself.

True, worst case you could offer a Gift certificate at a store that has the game in stock. or should have it. Good idea retro.

yea, they do that over at CAG. usually a first post, or first correct answer determines who gets it but anything works. just post it in the contest section and declare it DEAD when its over.

Missed that....

There are a few costs such as the forum software / support contract. The most expensive is the server fees. More powerful server, the more expensive it gets...

The traffic will pretty much dictate the type of server we will run...

Are you leasing or owning? I would hope you bought. If so then it would just be the support you have to purchace from year to year.
You would have to have an amazing amount of members/traffic to have to go to a real powerful server.
