Virginizing 4.2 Easy Way

Problem is I have the newest Wii (LU serial) and it can't seem to read my DVD-R Games (I tried several). So i decided to virginise it via this http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...odded-wii.html

I put 1 and 1 together and got 2. Theoretically it is possible to skip half of the cleaning up processes using step 2. Yes remember that backup nand & bootmii folder you have been caring for so that your Wii can be saved from bricked or semi bricked? It should restore your Wii to a time when it had all the old cIOS and no Hacks except for bootmii dvdx and homebrew channel which can be uninstalled easily and then reformat the wii.

Now this is all theoretically. Based on the assumption that the bootmii & nand backup will restore your system to the point where it was created.

On nand backup my Wii only had 2 bad blocks soi assume it was near virgin with the exception of homebrew & dvdx which probably made those.

I don't think u understand this very well. The bad blocks have nothing to do with what u have installed all wii's will have bad blocks and anything upto 40 isn't unusual. If u cannot play backup dvd-rs then the setup u had would allow u to play via usb, I cannot see why u would want to virginise your wii!

It is a very bad idea to restore a nand backup from bootmii ios. It can work, but if it fails (and it can) you are screwed.
