Is my wii bricked

Hi all,
I have a Wii with a Wiikey fusion modchip installed. I decided i wanted to use a usb hard drive to play games. So i got hold of a second Wii and did softmod, and it's the best thing i could have done.
Everything works great, every game i install on hdd plays, pal or ntsc.:D
Now for my problem.
I have not used the wii with the Wiikey fusion for some time, probably more than 8 month's.
I decided to give in a run the other day and it worked fine playing my back-up disc's. But today is where my problem starts. I turned it on and i'm not getting any signal on my tv. All the cables are fine as when i plug them into my softmod Wii it works fine.
When i turn the Wii off i can never turn it off to get the red light on the power button, it always goes to the yellow/orange colour. Even when i connect the cables up to it, it never shows up red.
Does anyone think it may be bricked. I'v taken the Wiikey out to see if that may be the problem but it makes no difference.

Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

When i put a disc in Wii and turn it on, the disc does spin. Not sure if this help's.

Can you power on the wii using only the remote?

No. When i could not use it yesterday i went back to the other Wii, now it can't sync the remotes.

Sounds like you have a hardware issue instead of a brick. I would standby for some hardware experts to give their opinion but usually bricks are due to someone deleting something they shouldn't or doing the wrong thing and it sounds like you've done neither.

Will wait around a while and see if anyone can help. If you no of any experts point them in my direction please.
Was hoping i could of kept this Wii as back-up incase me softmod Wii got bricked. Lol.

Like I said, all signs point to hardware problems from what I can tell. Not being able to turn on via wiimote would mean a dead bluetooth module which is cheap and easy to replace, but since the wiimotes were not synced to that wii it's a roll of the dice. Wish I had more to offer. Good luck getting it fixed!

What happens if you unplug it and plug it back in? Does the light turn red or orange?

It always goes to orange.

Sorry about this but could someone move my thread to the solderless modchip section.

You have a definite hardware issue as junkmail suggested. If your hardware was in could working condition then when you unplug it and power it back up the light should go red. I have a motherboard now that I am troubleshooting that does this exact same thing.

Ok. So you think it may be me motherboard.
I'm no hardware expert so i'm thinking of me options, need a little advice.
1: I live in UK and have only come across a couple of motherboards on ebay going for around £40-£50 + postage.
2: Again ebay. I send my wii and get a refurbished wii in it's place for around £35 + postage. Not to keen on this one due to not knowing what dvd drive will be in it.
3 : Buy a faulty Wii with read disc error and use the dvd drive out of my Wii.

What do you think.
I'm not in a hurry to get it fixed, as me softmod Wii is woking fine, it's just that all it's good for at the min is a door stop
