Request for newbie

I am not a technically sound person to determine softmode or hard mode...My Nintendo wii was moded by Mr. Sam, who charged me 100 dollars last year.last week wii fell down and broke.when asked Sam told me it is garbage.I threw it away and bought a new Nintendo Wii yesterday.But i cannot play, copy games.Sam told the new board inside does not allow to do Mod.serial number is LU56468518
Please let me know stepwise, can i do mod chip ?? which mod chips are suitable ??
how to do mod or softmod,to play all copies games both with NTSC and PAL system.
please forgive me if i am breaking any rule to ask this questions

Softmod it. It fairly easy to do if you read the guide carefully. You can play games from a external hard drive as bristoljay suggested. Check out the guide in my signature that fits your wii.

If softmode please give me the name of softmode and link in this forum.I did not find link in my signature.
Do you mean USB stick as external hard disk after soft mode???But a game is 4.5 G,.I will need one usb for each game??

Well according to this here you can add a modchip to play your backup DVDs because you have a GC2-D2C chipset which is capable of playing backup DVDs. I still suggest that you softmod because it is something you can do yourself and the modchip maybe not so much.

To find a guide you first need to know what system menu you have. You can find that by going into the wii settings and look in the top right corner. It will say something like 4.1U (US) or 4.2E (Europe). The system menu can very from 3.1 to 4.3. Once you find that then have another look in my signature for the guide that fits your wii.

You could use a USB Stick but a USB hard drive would be much better because they are more compatible and you get more storage space. Some people have up to 2TB but myself I have a 400GB drive and thats all I need. Most games when installed to a WBFS partition end up being around 1 to 2GB so you can judge a drive from that. The is a nice guide by Gen3sf found here on how to setup a hard drive to backup and play your games.
