Help needed since 4.2 update have lost Homebrew & won't play ntsc discs no-more.

I bought a moded Wii from a guy it was second hand, it played both pal & ntsc copied discs and had hombrew but since it updated to 4.2 I've lost homebrew and can't play ntsc discs, still plays pal copied games, I've looked on internet sites for help but only seen help for softmoded Wii's, and some of the advice sounds like there not sure if it works for them, I don't want to end up with what is called A Brick.

Can anyone help with some easy to follow instructions I'm not very tech minded, but the info might help a friend to fix it for me.

    Thanks in advance.

No fix available for hardmod on 4.2 at the moment.

Nintendo designed 4.2 to remove cross region loading from modchips, something which worked really well. So NTSC disc loading is gone for you, at least if you wish to stick with modchip loading. Nintendo also built in a check into IOS70 that checks and removes the old HAXX Homebrew Channel .

So, you will need to softmod if you wish to load your NTSC games. Check the Tutorials section of the forum for Messie's Full hacking guide for 4.2 Wiis or ShadowSonic2's 4.2 softmod guide.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

TC, do you have any Gamecube games in NTSC? If that's the case, can you confirm for me that they also don't work?

This is barely on topic at best. If your Wii is @ 4.2 follow Mauifrog's guide here.
