<smartass> The best way to prevent virus infection is not to run Micro$soft products... But, if you have to run a virus on your computer, run the "anti-virus" software that is written by the virus err operating system writer. Micro$oft security essentials. After all they want to protect their infection from other programs that want to infect your machine. </smartass>

Was running Norton 360 until it did a double backup of my hard drive and filled it up. Wiped out nortan and installed AVG.

ESET NOD32 rules its light and cool! plus outpost firewall, till i find a better one...
ESET NOD32 here too, nice small memory footprint and low resources needed. Not like some of those bloatware (Norton) AV programs. Haven't run a firewall beyond the Windows one and the router one for ages.
Avast and common sense works for me.
Other progs include ZA Pro, Adaware Pro and Spybot 1.3.
