USB Loader GX can't find my HD when already connected

    Hi,

I installed yesterday the HBC and sofmodded my v4.3e wii. After this, I installed the latest version of the USB Loader GX, but when I start this channel with my HD plugged into the wii, I'm having some errors:
    - Loading... Waiting for slow HDD: (countdown from 20 to 1) sec left
    - Loaded cIOS 222 R65535
Then, the screen freezes and I can't do anything. After several minutes, it says ‘device not found’ and the wii goes back to the channels.

I've already searched it on internet and found soms others with the same problem. No solution was found, except for plugging the HD in, during the countdown.
Has anyone found a solution for this problem, so I can just let my HD plugged-in all the time?

    Thx in advance.
    Grtz,
    Prince Skeleth

Did you use our Softmod ANY Wii guide to do your mod? Also, have you checked to be certain your drive is formatted correctly, and is on the compatibility list?

    Hi,

I have a WD Elements 1TB drive (USB 3.0). It was formatted as NTFS before I formatted it with WBFS manager.
I will first try to format it again as FAT32 and than format it with WBFS manager again and see if that works.

However, if this is the problem, how come I can start USB Loader GX when I connect the HD while the Loader is doing his countdown? In this way, I can play the games on my HD. But when I connect my HD to the wii before i open the USB Loader GX-channel, it doesn't work? Very strange in my opinion..

I let you know if the formatting works..

    Grtz

It would help to know if you followed our guide or not. If you did, you could try using the 249 version of GX.

    Hi,

No, i followed a guide that a friend also used (How to: Softmod your 4.3 Nintendo Wii). At the end, I took GX instead of Wii Flow. However, I also tried it wit Wii Flow, but here it goes immediately back to the channels if I start the Wii Flow-channel..

I installed the channel version of GX from Downloads - USB Loader GX. Maybe I could try to use the 249 version of GX if the formatting does not work as you suggested? Where can I find then this version?

    Thx for helping!

Download THIS and extract the 249.dol to your sd/apps/usbloader_gx folder. Delete the existing "boot.dol" and the "meta.xml", then rename "249.dol" to "boot.dol". If you still encounter the same issue, follow the d2x installation guide in my sig and install the recommended configuration of d2x v7.

Thx for the information. I will do these steps, after formatting my HD. It takes a long time, so I will probably test it this afternoon.
When I've done the installs you suggested, I will update here..

    I solved it!

I previously installed the wrong file for GX. I installed the 'old' wad-file for the channel version.
Now, I installed the All in One package on my SD Card and the latest forwarder, and now it works perfect and I can open GX and see my games.

At first, I couldn't load the games (black screen), but when I replaced the boot.dol file as you suggested, It worked for me.

    Thx a lot!
