wii does not detect hard drive anymore

    wii 4.1e
been using configurable usb loader for about a year without any problems
then in trying to get tintin to work i used d2x cIOS Installer v2.2 and messed things up
now my wii wont read usb
    inserted in port o
i then used sdcard and installed usb confiurable 70 and changed meta.xml to use 222 mload (previously 249)
now it reads drive and works but forwarders dont and i have to keep sdcard in and start usb loader from hombrew channel
also tried softmodding again from scratch but 249 still wont detect usb drive.
googled it and some suggested putting extra device in port 1 but this did not work for me.

Re-install the d2x cIOS with the newest installer (3.1 I think) and see if that works.

which i presume is failed to detect usb

Are you using your HDD or an SD card to install the forwarder wad?

I'm old school in that regard. Prefer to use an SD card rather than usb.
Not sure what the problem is, but atleast we got your loader to recognize
    the drive again.

Are you following me? I know I can use USB, I just prefer not to. Is that ok with you?
