How can I make it look great? I read alot of forums on here and sort of find my way, that is why this is my first post, I'm lost. My son is driving me nuts about MW3 and Spyro, I know, spoiled kids, LOL! Should I try Pimp My Wii? I did read over the MW3 guide, all I got was the cIOS 36,224,250 needed to be updated. Please HELLLPPP!!!!!! Thanks again Matt

Is it safe to update to 4.3? I have 4.2U now. The spyro disc won't load without an update, that is why I went backup, but then the portal isn't reconized. Thanks

first off.. dont double post.. there is an edit button. second dont use pimp my wii.. third do not take an official update from nintendo..

I did read over the MW3 guide, all I got was the cIOS 36,224,250 needed to be updated"
thats not all the guide says.. it tells you the working configurations for the game.. you have up to date cIOS so no need to do that.. you just need to mess with what cIOS the game loads with from the loader. also.. if you have priiloader installed and the block disc/internet updates hacks set then you should be fine to accept the prompt from the game.. it will error out.

If HBC is working then start from "softmods with HBC installed". If it is not then yes banner bomb is a good option.. dont do anything that the guide doesnt tell you to do...

and one last question before i do this. On chapter 2 it says: format my sd card. If i format my card, will it compromise with something i already installed like a game on sd or another wad? I just wanna make sure before i format my card because i dont want to brick or have an error somewhere. i did a backup on boot mii just to be safe.

    thanks for the help!

anything on the sd will be deleted so if you have anything you you want to save then back it up.. it will not hurt anything though if it gets deleted.

Need help getting my old soft-modded system current

i have a softmodded wii that hasn't been updated for a long time, and I want to update my CIOS files. Everything has always worked great, and I don't want to break functionality with anything, but i do want to updated the CIOS and such so i can play the latest games. Here's what syscheck shows:

    Spoiler

Is there anything about this that requires immediate updating? Also, is there a file somewhere that I can just use through WAD manager that will update all my IOS files to the current versions? (I would rather not bother updating my system menu BTW).

    Thanks!

Your entire softmod is outdated and your IOS are outdated... No single file to download but following the regularly recommended soft mod any wii guide will fix you up right.

I actually just downloaded "Update All IOS.zip" and "Update Game IOS.zip". Is this as simple as just using WAD manager and installing the 8 contained cIOS WADs and 25 contained IOS WADs one by one?

And sorry if these questions are noobish. Such a huge period of time goes by between updating that I basically have to relearn this entire process every time.

you should NOT just download and install things.. you should follow the instructions in the guide.

I'm not downloading and installing random "things", I'm talking about downloading and installing the CIOS and IOS WADs from here http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...your-ioss.html

My question is would installing those updated CIOS/IOS WADs (overwriting the old ones) accomplish the same thing as following a huge reinstall softmod from scratch process that it would seem I shouldn't need to do as long as the CIOS and IOS are updated, which is the entire point to play newer games (unless i am somehow missing something else that needs to be updated through that process, which I'm not sure what that would be).
