    Your mod is old. I would recommend that you go through Softmod Any Wii guide to remod your system. In the process, you can get your NAND backup, you don't need the original one, just one from a point where the Wii still functions fine, in case you blow something up and it has to be used to restore the data.

    You can start in Chapter 1 : Part 1 where it says "for systems that already have HBC installed", then go from there.

    Hi, Im new to this and Im having a bit of trouble with loading installed games from my usb after going through the Softmod ANY Wii guide, I just end up with a black screen and the wii goes completely unresponsive. Was told that uploading a syscheck might be useful.

    Spoiler

    I know its probably something ridiculously obvious or I've missed a step somewhere but any help would be much appreciated.

    The syscheck looks good. See the FAT32 guide for suggestions on how to prepare and install contents to the hard drive. The link to that guide is in my signature.

    It is also possible it may be a USB compatibility issues. We have a thread for that here: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...lity-list.html

    Hello,

    I posted this thread a while back, and never got a chance to re-softmod the wii as was recommended, until today. My problem was that the system menu stopped loading and the HBC was coming up "uninstalled" - I think my son may have done a system update when trying to play a new game... anyway, I just followed all of the directions on the softmod guide from "softmods with HBC installed" for "systems menu 3.1 or less"(I didn't know which one I had since the system menu wouldn't load), through Chapter 3. I also updated the Wii IOS, the Wii Shop Channel, and up/downgraded/installed System Menu 4.1 as recommended.

    All files verified out ok, and all wads installed without errors, but the System Menu still doesn't load past the warning screen... nothing but black... Anything I may have done wrong?

    Here is my system check. Thanks, as always, for the advice!

    @axel:

    Right off, I see HBC running on IOS 61 rather than 58. You do have IOS 58 present. Perhaps uninstall HBC and reinstall and then see if it runs off IOS 58. Also, IOS 40 isn't what's usually expected in terms of maxxed version, but wouldn't account for the symptoms you report.

    SysCheck looks good. You could've edited your post but no harm/no foul. If the drive is electrically dead, nothing will load. If it's simply laser gone bad, you can still USB HD.

    Yes that's what I was thinking nightstash. I can hear the drive spinning so I assume the laser is dead as well. Thanks for taking a look at it.

    your cIOSs are old. you have d2x-v6 where we recommend people start with d2x-v8final.

    See the softmod any Wii guide linked in my signature and go through it to get your system current.
