I softmodded wii quite a few years ago, so wanted to see if that was the issue. (When I try to start the game Just Dance 2014 for usb loader gx, screen goes blank and nothing happens. Some have said before you start the game, when you select the game from the usb loader, there should be 2 buttons "Play" and "Settings", should click on the settings button and select IOS250...(I believe I'm using 249 right now). I however do not get that option of those 2 buttons, once I select the game it starts trying to run the game right away)....anyway here is my system post.....thanks!

    Spoiler

Your mod definately is old. It isn't even running a current HBC (1.0.8). If your Wii was on the network, it would have asked you to update to 1.1.0 -- and it would have done this for you.

HBC is running on IOS 61 instead of 58, so you are not getting the benefit of USB 2.0 available to HBC.

In addition, you are missing many cIOSs we recommend you have in addition to having a few IOSs that get installed with 4.3.

Find a link to the Softmod Any Wii guide in my signature to remod your system to get it current.

Then when you try to run JD2014 from your USB loader, make sure you tell it to run using cIOS 250.

    SoftMod Update Question

Having the same trouble with JD2014. Ran Maufrog's softmod guide (v13) today to update an older soft mod from a couple of years ago. After the softmod today (which I completed without any errors), I still can't run the JD2014 disc - the Wii tells me it had a disc error and to remove and restart. I have an external HDD (Verbatim 1TB with WBFS file format) that worked fine prior to today's update, and now it won't run any of my saved games either. I get the same error.

I ran a system check and the results are below. BTW - thanks to all who post to this forum, very helpful resources for me.

Your mod looks good to me. Check Priiloader and make sure it's not forcing discs to run on certain IOS. If you're USB loading it, try changing the IOS the USB loaders runs the game with.

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

Hi all, i am new to the nintendo wii world. Just got my first wii last week. I have already read the "Thinking about hacking a wii? Start here! [A basic introduction to Wii hacking]" guide to get in touch with what i am dealing and it was really helpful.

So this is the System Check of my wii:

    1) Anything wrong?
    2) Do i really need to modify/update something ?
    3) I don't have the NAND BKP because i bought the wii from a random guy. Any advices at this point?
    4) From what i read in the basic introduction guide to wii hacking i think that i have to softmod my wii again to update the softmod method that was installed in this wii. But im not right of doing this so i need a opinion from someone that understands my case.

    Thanks in advance.
