    You could simply remove the Homebrew Channel. Other things like you're speaking of carry a certain risk. There is a user-supported tutorial here for the thing that you seek.

    Looks alright except for one thing, you're using HBC 1.1.2 which is meant for Wii U's vWii. You should be using HBC 1.1.0 if you're using an original Wii.

    Do I need a different ios36?

    I was wondering if you could tell me how my system looks.

    Spoiler

    I see where you mentioned the 1.1.2 HBC was for the WiiU so I will downgrade, but do I need to update any other ios's? Specifically I've noticed a lot of people using a 36 that has a version of 54321 and trucha/etc. and one or two other ios's that have a different version. I also noticed BC v2 wheras others have v6, but not sure what that is to update.

    I didn't want to update the system menu if I didn't have to.

    @schooluser:

    Yep, that's sort of a kludge. You will need to find the HackMii V1.1.2 installer and uninstall that version. In addition, you're HBC should be running on IOS 58 (which gives the cIOS and other things USB 2.0 speeds). There's also an optional IOSUpdate included in our guide intended for users with System Menu 4.2 and below.

    After you uninstall V1.1.2, you pretty much should start this guide from the beginning to end. Also note, there's special instructions in the guide that specifically apply to your Wii due to System Menu version. You'll find it under the "Wad Installs" header and it's in a spoiler entitled "Users with a System Menu version of 3.1 or less MUST LOOK HERE!!!!"

    @miniwii:

    Yes, your SysCheck is in order. If you're having issues, it's not relating to your System Menu. Games are IOS-dependent, not System Menu-dependent. Since your SysCheck appears valid, perhaps you should be looking elsewhere. Are you using a USB HD? It could be compatibility issue or perhaps something's gone awry with your HD (and/or SD card configuration).

    Flash your hard drive --- what? What specific device are you using, and have you looked on the compatibility thread to see if it's compatible? Have you prepped it properly, we have a thread on that subject as well.
