    @Brovox:

You have absolutely no cIOS whatsoever, they've all been stubbed. Follow this guide. Since you do have HBC installed, you may start at the spoiler labeled "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed" that can be found in Part 1, Chapter 1. Start there and go to the end of the guide.

I just did Part 2- Install The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii and couldn't install boot2.

boot2 injected with the BootMii loader did not pass the consistency check(-1000000000)

Above error is shown and only two options available under BootMii.

    Install BootMii as IOS
    Uninstall BootMii as IOS

Should I install BootMii as IOS or do something else? I have done this step when I installed HBC and couldn't make a NAND backup by pressing Power, Power, Power, Reset, Reset. But I haven't install IOS58 and IOS61 then. Thanks.

    My new system check is

You should install Bootmii as IOS, prepare the SD card (it's an option you'll see after installing Bootmii), then you'll be able to execute Bootmii and get the NAND backup.

You'll need to remove HBC V1.1.2, that's designed for the vWii. Also, your cIOS are out of date and have wrong bases for the relevant slots. Do this.

So, just followed the Softmod Any Wii guide, had no errors at all, thought all was well and fine. At least, until it came time to give it a test run. As I don't have the cash for a USB HDD at the moment, I was intending to use Disc Backups, but none of the ones I've burnt thus far function.

For reference, this is infact an older Wii, capable of running Disc Backups. For any help it might be, the Serial # is LU52889661, which Identifys the Wii Drive Chipset as being GC2-D2C, one of the Disc-Capable Chipsets.

The Wii has apparently been owned by 3 sets of people, myself being the third. By going through the Wii Messageboard, I found the earliest use of the Wii was around September 18th, 2007, which was where the earliest Nintendo message was. The earliest user information was on October 29th, 2007. I don't know who these owners were, but they sold the Wii (or pawned it, or something) at the beginning of 2008, where it fell into my Aunt and her familys hands. They never used it online, except for Netflix, which led to it being updated to 4.3U. Still, that shouldn't have been a problem according to the Softmod Any Wii Guide.

    Here's the Syscheck.

I have burnt in total 4 games so far, all failures. The first two are Super Mario Galaxy, and Wii Sports, both Wii titles. The others, both Gamecube Games, are Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, and Super Mario Sunshine.

All four have yielded the same error. They give the generic Disc Error in the Disc Channel (expected behavior for the Wii titles), and in Neogamma the following error. First it says "DVD Err(0303023a00), Disc ID", then that very quickly disappears, and is replaced by "DVD+R/bad burn/DL problem?" which I then have to press a button to clear, and return to the main menu of Neogamma.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. When I insert the disc and hit A inside Neogamma to load the disc, the Wii makes 3 very audible Clicks before yielding the error message.

I have tried burning the GC games twice each, so that's 6 discs burnt so far with no luck. They are not DVD+R, they are Phillips DVD-R. A cheap brand, which may be the problem really, but I'd like to eliminate any other problems before I shell out more cash for higher quality discs. These discs have in the past worked fine for my PS2 Backups with no flaws at all. It is, however, worth noting that for some reason, despite my drive (Sony DVD RW DRU-830A SS22) being capable of running at higher speeds, no matter what I put the burn speed at, my computer won't let it burn faster then roughly 1.5x. I am not sure where this issue arises, or if it is relevant.

For reference, the final burn I tried, this is the ImgBurn log.

Anything marked *** I just erased the directories, for privacy. Also, worth noting, since I believed my own actions to be the reason of the failure initially, I went through, exactly word for word step by step, the Softmod Any Wii guide a second time after the first time didn't have the desired result. This shouldn't be an issue though, as it is designed to overwrite any old Softmod, including itself, if you go step by step, right?

Any help will be VERY appreciated.

Phillips brand are absolute JUNK (CMC MAG media code, to be avoided like the plague). Use quality DVDs --- Verbatim Azo Dye DVD-R; burn no faster than 4X and use the verify option (ImgBurn works well). Your softmod is in order. A couple suggestions for specific Wii titles can be found here.

As for GC titles, nowadays we recommend Dios Mios (USB HD required) or Dios Mios Lite (SD card only). Failing that, there's also Devolution

I had a feeling that was the case, I encountered similar problems when softmodding my PS2, the original discs I used for those would simply not work... I want to say they were Maxell or Memorex... These, despite being cheap, wound up working for that console, but I had heard that the Wii was a bit more particular. But I had to try before reaching for the wallet.

Right now I'm looking at Newegg to buy some, that should work though right? And when I get my hands on these Verbatims, would they suffice in the short term for GC as well? I won't really be able to do a USB HDD purchase until about November/December, extra holiday cash rolls in around then. Time spent saving, and time spent waiting til then, would be about the same in any case.

Also, the fact that my machine cannot in fact even reach 4x, and maxes at about 1.5x, shouldn't be a problem should it? If I just say, flatted it out to 1x so it's nice and even?

I'll have to wait til Friday comes to test anyway, but thank you for verifying that it was not in fact me making a mistake with the Guide, that part being done is a huge relief. Now just gotta quit making Frisbees.

EDIT: Are these the right Verbatim discs?
