New 4.3U Softmod Can't get any USB Loader to recognize HDD

Hey everyone, like many who post here I am brand new to this. I recently installed everything following this guide

I did everything except downgrade my system menu. I still have all the different loaders installed (USB loader GX, CFG loader, WiiFlow, Neogamma) but can't get any of them to recognize my USB hard drive. I followed the Fat32 tutorial in this forum. I've tried 2 different hard drives including a WD 160GB Passport Essential which is listed as confirmed working. All my Homebrew apps and emulators are working great. Just can't get the USB going. Also, not sure if this matters but WiiMC recognizes all of my hard drives. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Josh

To answer both of you, it could be a drive compatibility issue with d2x v8. I would suggest following the d2x cIOS Installation guide (link below in my sig) and install v9b49. See if you games load after that.

@battyboy make sure you are following our fat32 guide for setting up your HDD. Link here--->http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ide-fat32.html

Hey thanks for your input. That didn't work for me. I downloaded v9b49 and followed the instructions using the recommended configuration

    - cIOS base 37, cIOS slot 245
    - cIOS base 38, cIOS slot 246
    - cIOS base 53, cIOS slot 247
    - cIOS base 55, cIOS slot 248
    - cIOS base 56, cIOS slot 249
    - cIOS base 57, cIOS slot 250
    - cIOS base 58, cIOS slot 251

Everything said it installed fine. Althought one thing I did notice was that the Select cIOS line would only let me choose versions up to d2x-v6. There was no option to select v9b49. I am positive I downloaded the right package from the links. I should also note that I am only trying to get it to recognize an empty freshly formatted hard drive. No games pre-installed or WBFS folder. Just want to use it for backing up my games. If you have any more suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for your time, Josh

You must not have extracted the v9b49 package to the correct place. The contents of that zip have to be in the d2x-cios-installer folder. Regardless, you can try the offline method if that suits you better. Some find that easier.

Still no luck after offline install of v9b49 with WiiMod 3.2. I guess I should start looking for another hard drive off the compatibility list. Just worried it's not a hard drive compatibility issue and I am missing something else. Thanks again for your time and quick responses

yeah, but I have my wii laying flat so it's the bottom one. I have tried 2 drives in both ports with every usb loader. although one is not mentioned on the compatibility list, but i tried it just in case. also mentioned this before but both drives are recognized by WiiMC

Try loading one of the USB loaders without the drive connected, then connect it when it starts the count down. Make sure you have your drive formatted correctly. Primary and active. Also try a fresh install of the loaders. Also check the drives site for trouble shooting your HDD s.

Still no luck with fresh installs. I'll probably try to pick up a different HDD off the compatibility list when I get a chance. Thanks for your suggestions
