Legitimately purchased Wii Shop content won't use cIOS's, but rather the standard Nintendo-issued IOSs. So if you are having problems with VC, maybe re-install the IOS Update pack (also part of Chapter 2) to clean that up.

Did you do the Wii -> Wii U Transfer? That will prevent any VC games bought to run on the original Wii, as the rights to play them have been moved to the Wii U.

Reinstalling IOS Update pack does not help. I can't do Wii U transfer because I don't own Wii U console. Will try to figure on my own what's wrong. Thanks anyway

What happens when you try to launch it?

You could try deleting the channel and then re-downloading it from Wii Shop (you'll be able to redownload for free) to see if that helps.

    Two Distinct Problems

Hi guys, I've been trying to softmod my Wii for a few years now, with not much luck. I usually just give up for a long stretch of time and come back to it later. However, this time I've gotten farther than ever before and can almost taste the sweet victory! I've got the homebrew channel loaded.

I'm having two distinct problems here, though. The first (and I suppose most important), is that I keep getting different errors while trying to run the WadManager v1.7. At first I was getting this error: "Installing Ticket ... ERROR! (ret=-2011", but now I'm just getting a system crash (photo attached).

My other issue is that whenever I try to run BootMii from HBC, I just get a black screen; nothing happens. This means I haven't been able to back up my whole Wii yet (although I've done my best to backup all my save files and Miis using other methods).

Would one of you folks be kind enough to have a peek at my syscheck and let me know if you spot anything I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    life036

Whatever previous FAILGUIDE you've attempted? Throw it out the window. Do this instead. It's maintained, current, supported, and the solution to your woes.

    lol.

Since I already have HBC installed, should I start at that point in the guide, or should I start at the very beginning regardless? Thanks.

There is a section in Chapter 1 that says for systems with HBC already installed. Start there. Or, you can letterbomb it again, your choice.

You somehow have your 249 a version behind, even though everything else looked good.

Try updating that (use the d2x guide, or use Chapter 2 of the Softmod Any Wii guide linked in my signature).

As for your games not working, if that doesn't fix it, it's possible that the rips aren't good. If you can rerip the game off the disk using the loader's functionality, that would ensure you have a good, clean, rip. Do other games work just fine, or have you just tried these two.

We, in general, do not recommend using WBFS-formatted hard drive. Most of us use FAT32 to have it compatible with other apps. This won't be the cause, just something to keep in mind if you choose to do other things with your hard drive.
