    @crapaton:

If you have HBC installed, same exact advice as given the other recent poster. Start at the spoiler labeled "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed."

@psw: re-read what he told you, or look at my reply to crapaton. A spoiler = hidden sections where you gotta click on them (they look like PLUS signs with a blurb of visible text; click on the PLUS, it will expand).

    Please check my current state

I am new and I started to soft mod my Wii from another guide. Now I want to follow this guide at Wiihacks.com = http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html. The only thing different is that I have installed a cIOS this is the file name = 9426-cIOS38r17-Installer

Is my current state okay to proceed with chapter 2?

If you can access HBC, you can start chapter 2. What the syscheck looks like before chapter 2 doesn't matter. Only what it looks like afterwards.

Go ahead with Chapter 2 install.

    Hello, Deylag!

Your wii has stubbed Cios's and your Homebrew channel is at Version 1.1.2. when it should be HBC Version 1.1.0.
You also have out dated ios's as well.
You are also missing Ios 58 and hbc should be using Ios 58 and yours is using ios 61.
To fix the problems above , follow The Soft Mod Any Wii Guide. (Link is at the bottom of my Signature.)

Start from "Soft Mod With Homebrew Channel Installed' and follow it all the way through.
This will over write everything , so you wont have to delete anything.
Please read the Guide A few times , before proceeding.

Thanks Jax - I'm not yet awake, and completely missed all that.

So deylag -- start over from chapter 1.

As suspected from what you said in your other posts, your Wii was updated and it killed your softmod. Following the Softmod ANY Wii guide will fix that, as well as prevent it from happening again.

I think I've done it. Not sure what I did, but I did it! Can you confirm?

Not sure what you were trying to accomplish, but I can confirm that indeed your Wii IS NOT softmodded. Delete the Homebrew Channel and it will be like you never messed with anything.

Yikes it's not? I was trying to softmod it. I guess I've misunderstood the concept of modding then? I'm trying to prep my unit to accept a HDD and use it for storing my children's games so they can access them from there, rather than scratching up the discs.

Currently we've got two emulators up and running so they can enjoy the games I played as a kid on the SNES and NES. Also.... I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but do I need DIOS MIOS to be able to save their GC games. I feel like I'm missing something here.
