Question Second hand wii, probably already modded - looking for advice

    Hello Everybody!

I have purchased a second hand wii and I was about to sofmod it when I realised the HBC is already installed. I suspect it has been sofmodded (there are IOS2xx).

Could you please have a look at the system check and advise me how to continue?

    Spoiler

Can I use the generic guide for ANY WII? should I have special care and skip steps (e.g. to avoid redundancies)?

Thank you very much in advance.

PS: I have read a few tutorials and searched for answers to similar situations but not found anything relevant to this. If the information is there please excuse me and let me know what key words should I have used (still learning the lingo too)

Start @ the spoiler where HBC is already installed. Go from there through the rest of the guide. Only 224 and 236 are actual cIOS; 222/223/249/250 are stubbed slots.

If you didn't understand my initial reply, it won't hurt to begin at the beginning. I have soft-deleted your two previous posts; not sure how they got auto-moderated (usually happens with links and a post count of < 5).

OK, since my last post I have read it a couple more times. Let's see if I get it right.

    Chapter 1
1 - Launching the Hackmii: I do not need to use the letterbomb or anything because I already have the HBC installed, si I just use HBC to launch Kackmii. Easy
2 - Within Hackmii install HBC (again? is this to update?) AND BootMii (as Boot2)

Question: To prepare the SD card... do I have to format it again?

3 - In HBC I run BootMii and make a NAND backup

Then I would do Chapter 2...

Can I stop here or do I have to go all the way through? I am still after a compatible usb hard drive

BTW, Thanks for the help and understanding

PS: Reposting on relevant section. Apologies, I got carried away.

    Two things:

    1. Use the edit button;
    2. This thread isn't for this purpose; your questions are better suited in the guide you're following --- don't ya think? Repost in relevant thread.

    Spoiler

It could do with an update. Run through the Softmod ANY Wii guide (link in my sig) starting with the spoiler labled "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed."

Thanks for the response. While updating, should I be starting with Chapter 1 or Chapter 2 of the 'Softmod ANY Wii' guide? It seems like Chapter 1 deals with getting Homebrew Channel installed, and I already have that.
