Indeed, after the tedious nerve racking process, I finally finished. So far, it all seems to work. I started the USB Loader GX channel, and it immediately recognized the 9.5 GB HDD I had connected. I then attempted to back up Monster Hunter Tri 3. The backup seems to be going fine. I will test the back-up as soon as its done.

I just have a lest few questions. Since I formatted my SD-Card at the end, does that mean all of my HBC apps are gone? And, while I like these new USB loader channels, I did like the HBC channel layout. If I wanted too, could I download my old apps again, put them on my SD card, and load them from HBC and they still work just like the Channel versions do?

Also, I have been experimenting a little and I was wondering how I can use Geko with USB Loader GX. some games like New Super Mario Brothers Wii are a lot better with some of the codes (Always have Yoshi, Infinite Fire/Ice balls. Ahh so much fun).

Your cIOS 249 & 250 are d2x v6 while your other d2x cIOSs are v8 so those 2 that are v6 (cIOS 249 and 250) are a bit outdated. Other than that I see no issues.

I need help. I modded my wii as per the instructions on this board however when I insert a USB drive with a sample game file it does not read the USB at all. I click on USB Configurator and it comes back to the main menu. I tried both the ports on the back. Following is my system info.

    System Check please

So... like I followed the SoftMod Any Wii guide and got to the priiloader step. Now i have two options, normal Priiloader and Priiloader for Wii Motion Plus. Since I have a Wii Motion Plus remote, I chose the 2nd option. Sadly, I can't press the A or + button to install Priiloader. Infact, no other buttons work except for that I can exit the installer just fine using the home button. I can't seem to get past the warning page to install the mod... I'm just left there at the warning screen untill i manually exit back to HBC. I've tried both versions of Priiloader with the same result and although I can get by without the brick protection, I like to play it safe... as we all do

Anyway, I figured I'd post a system check before I went on further so if someone could go over it for me, then that would be awesome

Have you tried using a different remote?

EDIT: I seem to recall something about using the minus button, but cant find the thread for the life of me... Did you try pressing the minus button?

Well crap, it's so typical that I go back and try one last time thinking *yeah this won't work...* Low and behold, I was able to install Priiloader beta... I had the Wii off when I came back to it so perhaps after installing the wads I should have rebooted the machine and then tried to install Priiloader. None the less, pressing the minus button couldn't find a valid Priiloader - which was understandable since I didn't have one installed in the firstplace. Logically, I pressed the plus button and the installer began and finished without a hitch. I went on to enable the recommended hacks and left it at that... for now. Onto step 3 - yay!

As a side note, I still could not press the A button to install Priiloader, but that's ok because the plus button did the trick and in hindsight, despite thinking i pressed all the buttons (I was mashing the controller), I must not have pressed either the minus or plus buttons...

Cheers for the advice cjizzle +1 internetz for you mate!

Actually the A button is for if you are using a gamecube controller, plus is for the Wii remote.

At the risk of sounding like even more of an idiot, I thought the plus symbol meant press the D-Pad... and thus was mashing the hell out of it heh *puts on his dunce hat* But i consider my problem solved now... I'm just glad I didn't brick the unit seeing as my kids have been playing it this whole time without any brick protection or anything. Just as well they didn't clue on to any updates being available
