Followed Softmod any wii with no reported errors but...

Hello All! Amazing resource you've built here!

I successfully softmodded my wii about 2 years ago but stopped using the Wii shortly thereafter. For the past three days I have been reviewing the excellent "Softmod ANY Wii" thread here and have had mixed results.

I followed the guide to the letter and ran through everything successfully (including proper checksums of WADS, ISOs, etc.) I am getting multiple DSI Exception errors with many different programs. (WiiMOD, sometimes HackMii, Hu-Go Emulator, sometimes Homebrew browser, etc.)

I ran through the guide for the third time from start to finish but had to use Multi Mod Manager as WiiMOD will not work to load wads (DSI Exception Core Dump). I'm using a 2GB SD card (Lexar?).

Let me know if you see any red flags! I've learned a lot from here but I could be missing something obvious (hopefully!) so feel free to call me an idiot as necessary.

    Spoiler

    Your system check is fine.
Try switching your sd card to a sandisk, I believe that could be the problem as you said Hackmii has even error-ed out on you as well.

Can both of you post another system check with the latest version.Link->System Check 2.1.9.beta 19

By the way HBC uses ios58 not cios236.

I really dont think 236 is the problem here. Try using the panasonic sd formatter on your card.

Interesting, was your Wii previously modded? Unfortunately I do not remember what guide(s) I followed for my original mod.

One thing of note, I did have to use the IOS236 installer mentioned in the guide under the "Help, I can't get the wads to install!" spoiler. This installs IOS 236 Installer v6 but I didn't see what version it installs. All I know is that I was able to install the 25 IOS WAD updates after running under 236 per those instructions.

I don't know what I'm gonna do with my self once this all works, I guess actually play the games?

I've been leaning towards a bad SD as well given the randomness of it all. I've got a 2GB Sandisk on the way, another note is that I'm on Mac. It does not have a quick format option but does have a "zero" write option which I use to fully format. I'm running Windows on a VMware partition so I will use that as well. Those parts won't be here till Friday. (Fingers crossed it works!) Thanks.

i had wad installation problem (with shopping channel v21) as well so i used the 236IOS Installer too (didn't help me so i uninstalled v20 and reinstall v21 at once- that helped. that's why we both have the rev 65535.
