newbe help before walking through wiihacks tut

greetings all, my name is betzelel.
I have recently been trying to softmod my old wii (the one with the gamecube controllers) i have installed the homebrew channel and mad a back up of the NAND and done a systems check. this is before i ran across this site. i was wondering if it was ok to do a reinstall of the bootmii and homebrew channel as perscribed in the the wiihackmii tut on this site or if re-doing it would brick the machine? also i noticed when i did the nand backup that it had 2 blocks which reported bad. is this normal? and is this something i should be worried about?

i have copied the tutorial and all the files listed before re-starting the walk through. the main purpose is that i want to be able to back up my game disks to usb so the kids wont damage them.

for info purposes i am attaching the system logs if they are needed.
thanks for your time and help :-)

The bad blocks are normal, so no worries there. Yes you can follow our Softmod ANY Wii Guide without issue.

    ok great!
this is the issue so far that i have been experaincing:
My wii is running IOS58 menu 4.3u. i have noticed that it is having trouble loading the usb driver and posts a message saying "cIOS is not installed on this system - USB GX reqires IOS222 IOS249 IOS250 to load driver" or something like that. what i was wondering, is which IOS or cIOS needs to be installed for the current one on my system (IOS58 menu 4.3u)
i am wanting to get the usb hdd recognised by the system. the GX loader will goto the next screen where is counts down from 20 while it is waiting. it then dumps into the wii channel for it saying that is had an error. i click the A button and it just shows a blank menu with no hdd's recognised. i dont know if this helps but this is the USB Device Details:

    Spoiler

    thanks for the fast reply!

Your cios's 249 etc are stubbed....You have to follow the Soft Mod Any Wii Guide.
Start from Soft Mod With Homebrew Channel Installed.
Please read the guide a few times , then proceed.

ok cool, thanks once again :-)
i will try and work it today after i get home and see what happens. thanks.

ah ok, ya i was reading something about that in teh walkthrough. i have saved the tutorial to a openoffice document so i can referance it easily. one thing i was a little worried about was installing the priiloader, is that pretty easy to install? and what are the chances of it bricking the system? is it pretty stable with IOS58 4.3u? i have made a full back up of everything on the SD card for the wii just incase something happens.
    thanks once again :-)

Installing Priiloader should give you no problems at all.
Now for the backing up your nand , you will be making a new back up of your system nand with Bootmii.
Make sure to save the back up of your nand and keys to a safe place .

This guide will work with your wii without any troubles and if you do have a problem please post it in that guide and we will help.

    WiiFlow won't recognize hdd

I recently purchased a modded wii from someone on ebay for our family. I tested it when I first received it and was able to access the hdd via wiiflow. I put everything back in the box until Christmas. I just set the system back up today, but am no longer able to access the hdd via wiiflow. It gives me a diagram showing that I have to connect the hdd to the wii in order to do anything, but it's already connected.

I'm hoping someone can take a look at the data from my system check and give me some advice on how to fix this.

    Spoiler

The hdd is a Seagate GoFlex Desk Adapter.

Since I didn't mod this myself I'm wondering if I'll be best off by getting a new sd card and setting up the re-modding the wii on that. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Are you connected to Port 0? That's the bottom port on the wii
