Mario Party 8, in particular, worked just two days ago, but now when I start it, it freezes on the first screen of the game explaining the use of the wrist strap. Many other games are acting similarly all of a sudden. Some load, but some will not when they were tested working just days ago. I updated GX to a newer version and followed the steps under the "Sofmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed" spoiler of the "Softmod Any Wii" tutorial to use Hackmii and update my softmod and Homebrew Channel. I even tried installing Configurable USB Loader and it did the same exact thing when I selected Mario Party 8, so now I'm not sure if it's a software problem, like the wrong cIOS or whatever, or there's something corrupt about the game disc's image on the HDD.

I also downloaded and ran IOS Info SysCheck 2, but received an error with a red "X" stating "Failed to get the stored TMD for IOS36." Then I checked my SD card and found no .csv file so I am unable to provide it (I'm assuming it would be on the root folder but I even searched the entire card for ".csv" and came up empty).

I'm sure this is just something simple I'm overlooking but, honestly, I'm still not very savvy with how all of this works and don't really know what to try next.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Update: I ran IOS236 Installer and Simple IOS Patch and, although the Wii games still freeze, I was able to get SysCheck to run to completion.

Your softmod is out of date. You need to update it. Try using the Softmod Any Wii Guide.

What are you looking for? Did you just softmod your Wii? Are you having issues? What type of issues? When you post here you have to give some kind of information so you can be helped.

What about my syscheck tells you my softmod is out of date? I feel like I'm really on the brink of understanding this stuff and I'm much more of a "what's wrong and why?" kind of guy then a "OMG fix this for me" kind of guy. I just want to know so I can more effectively problem-solve next time something like this happens. I'm an engineer, after all, and can't shake that mindset, but understanding software has never been my strongest area.

    Thanks.

You only have to update your Cios's...
Your cios 249 is D2x v6, we are on D2x v8.Link ->D2x Cios Installation Guide.
Besides that I really don't see anything wrong.
    Brian, Beat me to it.Lol

OK, great. Thanks to both of you. Is there a syscheck on this board I can reference to make sure, in the future, all of my cIOS are all up to date?

This isn't working. I used MMM to update the wads and my USB loader is still freezing the same games. I notice that syscheck shows that none of the IOS I updated have ES Identify. I don't know if that's causing my problem, but why would that not be included during the update of these seven wad files?

Make sure you get the latest system check , that one your using is old.
Could be giving false results on the es identify.

Also try these wads D2x V8, install them with wad manager 1.7, Wiimod etc.and use cios236 to install those.

Pretty sure that's the exact batch of wads I installed. And I can't find a sysCheck newer than version 2.1.0 B18. If you have a link to a more recent one, please share.

"use cios236 to install those" is where I get confused though. Is cios236 a program I can use on my HBC? I thought cIOS just meant a custom IOS and was an altered replacement of a parameter the Wii used to run different game titles. How do I use it to install wads?

I'll try reinstalling these wad files again, maybe with a different program and try to find a more recent Syscheck. Also, I found another link for the d2x installer so I downloaded and installed it, but when I run it, it only gives me the option to update up to version 6. I downloaded version 3.1 if that makes a difference. Is there a newer version or am I just doing something wrong altogether?

    Thanks.

Update: I downloaded and used WAD Manager 1.7 and I see what you mean by install using cIOS236. Still have no idea what it means really though.
