    hi
my wii wont run dvd backups after changed motherboard
it was 2-3 years past and till now i play via usb but now want to know can i fix it?
i had a pal wii that could run dvd backups with no problem
but i accidentlly erased system menu ios from wad manager(i think was ios 60, i had no info about wii that days) and bought a korean board
then i formatted the nand using this guide and changed it to pal but after that it wont run dvd backups(only play from usb)
im sure my drive is not d2-3 because i could play dvd backups when i had original m.b
could it be fixed by changing ioses or something?
    here is my syscheck

    Spoiler

    THANK YOU A LOT

@Saeeid - While your syscheck differs from what I'd expect to see (no patches on 36, but you do have 236 installed) you should be able to play backup media. To put it this way, I dont see anything in your syscheck that would prevent it. Are you attempting to play it using neogamma or through the disc channel? If you want the disc channel to work, you can set up priiloader to use 249 for discs. This is not a perfect solution but should work in most cases.

    Wrong date in console.

I am unable to open the wii settings menu where i can see the mac id and all. I am unable to change any settings of the console. Your help and feedback really appreciated. When i open Wii Options and then the Settings, I get a Blank page with 3 dots. Thats all nothing. I can go back to the wii home. No other buttons respond here.

As per advice, i have removed the console ID.
    Thank you.

This is all I could find....for your Situation.
    1048, 1053 & 1101:
DVD Read Error:Bad burn/media or incorrect cIOS.Update or Use Neogamma R9.If you are already using Verbatim DVD-R burned at 4x try at 2x.Also this error will persist on newer wiis, meaning that they have the new D3-2 Drive chip which cannot read backups at all.Only option for them is USB loading.

Been away from the Wii scene for a while now - help me get up-to-date?

I use my Wii periodically. It's mostly for the kids though so I haven't updated any of the hacks in quite some time. Therefore, I've forgotten much of the lingo and I'm not sure what I need to do to make sure my Wii is fully up-to-date (with hacks and homebrew - not Nintendo).

I ran sysCheck and got the following, which I have a few questions about:

    sysCheck v2.1.0b18 by Double_A and R2-D2199

What are "Stub" IOS? Are they just empty files basically that do nothing? And the ones that say "No Patches", are those official IOS files from Nintendo that haven't been hacked or modified yet?

What would be the best course of action to update my IOS files to have the most recent hacks? Most of the tutorials I've seen so far just deal with hacking the Wii in the first place. Is there a good update tutorial for people like me?

@organized_chaos - Stub IOSes are exactly what they sound like - stubs, non-functional. Our friends at (N) stub the cios slots (249etc) when you do a system menu update.

Your best bet with this is to run through the softmod anywii guide in my sig. There's an option for HBC already installed.

    You could use an overhaul.

Your best bet is to follow The Soft Mod Any Wii Guide.(Look at The Bottom Of My Signature For Link)
Please read everything Before you proceed

Start From Soft Modded with Homebrew Channel Installed.

    This will explain Cios/Ios...Cios Explained

Bluphant, Beat me to it...Lmao.. Still Check out the Link that Explains Cios/Ios.

the problem is not neogamma or my discs because i played with them before i change my board and my drive is not d3-2 im sure
its a problem in motherboard or ioses

As BluPhant said; I see no reason for it to be Failing.

Now,did you ever clean the drive?(You could try that)
    Hopefully your drive ain't dieing...

I had one that did the same thing.
It would show the image in the disc channel, then give the Error.(For Neogamma as Well)

As for the change in the MB, I can not advise if it would or not affect it.(I doubt It Would Though)
