I used that anyway and it was the easiest thing I have done to the wii yet!

Just a couple of questions, which I'll post over in that thread itself.

(Edit: Converting to FAT32 did not fix the problem game.)

Thanks in advance for your help
It looks like you have done some random cios installation or followed a guide from somewhere else. I suggest you follow the Softmod ANY wii guide linked in my signature and then see what happens.

Would someone mind checking out my info? I recently re-modded with Mauifrog's guide, but had gone through several iterations over the years:

I would like to know if there is anything out of the ordinary. Additionally, while using ModMii to try and do an uneek setup I tried its syscheck feature. It told me that I should update the following:

    • IOS11v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS20v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS30v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS40v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS50v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS52v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS60v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS70v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • IOS80v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
    • cIOS249[56]-d2x-v8-final
    • cIOS250[57]-d2x-v8-final
    • RVL-mios-v10
    • IOS9-64-v1034
    • IOS36-64-v3608

I would like to know if it is
    A) Safe to do so
    B) What benefits would I get (i.e. why is it telling me to load these)
    C) If I shouldn't load them, why now? (i.e. I would like an explanation of these particular IOSes and versions).

Thanks for helping me get a better understanding!

    1. Safe to do so? Probably yes. Necessary not so sure. Up to you.

2 and 3 are basically the same answer:
    - Different sofmod guides can use different version numbers for the same thing. Take the above listed IOS11-IOS80 for example- basically the same IOS and patches as in the ANY Wii guide except the guide author gave them different version numbers, aside from IOS52, which was for the Korean 3.5 System Menu (doubt you need that though, right?)
    - 249 and 250 d2xv8 - this is entirely up to you. Generally we don't include the latest releases of cIOS in this guide until they have been out for awhile and thoroughly tested. If you want to go with v8, you can.
    - MIOS v10 is the version this guide installs, the 65535 version number is maxed to prevent N from changing it if you were to update from them.
    - IOS9 and IOS36 - same basic thing as described about IOS11-IOS80 above.

Hope that helps you make sense out of this!

    Working OK, but stranded

Hello guys. I have my RockBand 3 working fine with USB Loader GX . Right now my problem is that I dont know how to save the songs I download to the USB Hard disk. Maybe I have it already under my nose and just dont know the procedure, or maybe Im missing some installation. I looked all around for some answer or related problem, but my limited knowledge of the subject doesnt help...

Thanx for any advice you can give me

    Here goes my syscheck

    thanks cjizzle...

so I'm assuming since you didn't say anything re: my syscheck, that my system looks pretty good with what's there?

I believe prior to the mauifrog guide I had waninkoko loaded in the high ranges (249+?) and hermes loaded lower (222?). Anyway, I am wondering if there is at all any reason to use Waninkoko or Hermes anymore with the new d2x?

My main issues now are trying to get some older brew I had working - things like WAD creator and WAD manager don't seem to work anymore. I can use MMM to load WADs that seems to work...but can't seem to find any program that will create WADs like WAD Creator used to for me. I'm not 100% sure this is a problem of the newer cios or the fact that I am now running everything off my USB instead of SD.

    Your syscheck looks good.

D2x is based upon wanin cIOS and has made it a lot better. Regarding Hermes, although I have had complete success using only d2x, there have been a few people that have needed to use hermes to fix random issues. It does seem like hermes is being phased out, but I don't think any of the staff here is ready to phase it entirely out of the ANY Wii guide, since it has proven itself useful on occasion.

As far as Wad manager and Wad creator, both are basically legacy apps now. MMM, WiiMod, or Wad Manager 1.7 can be used. Creating wads has gone a long way since the introduction of nand emulation. I personally use ShowMiiWads.

I keep getting error -2011 whenever I try to install the usb loader gx forwarder wad. I've tried installing it using both Wad Manager 1.7 and YAWM. Here's my syscheck:

    Question System Menu Trouble

I've been having some trouble with my Wii over the last few weeks, so I thought I would go ahead and post a system check in this forum. Basically, my problem seems to be related to the system menu: oftentimes (but unpredictably), my Wii will simply refuse to load the system menu. This can happen regardless of whether I'm booting the Wii straight to the SM, or if I'm loading the SM from the HBC, from Priiloader, or from some other channel. The Wii doesn't freeze (the reset button still works), but it just won't load the SM. I'm also having lots of trouble with the Wii Shop Channel freezing on me (in this case, the reset button does not work). I would suspect that this issue is related to the first, but I'm not positive.

For background information, I've recently had to do a complete NAND restore on my Wii, and I've been trying to get it back to perfect health since then. It's mostly there, with the exception of these two issues, but I can't seem to do anything to fix them. I thought that a system check might reveal the problem, so I'm now asking for your help with that. Thanks in advance!

    Details:
    2006 (launch day) Wii
    BootMii installed on boot2
    NAND is archived
