both drives are formatted as ntsf and then to wbfs with wii backup manager. Should it be from fat32 to wbfs?

That shouldn't make a difference. Are you sure everything is exactly the same on both Wiis? There was a recent update (early December) to the ANY Wii guide. The cIOS versions were changed from d2x v6 to d2x v7.

EDIT: Also make sure the drive has any power saving/sleep mode feature disabled. That actually would make more sense if you say it freezes after a few minutes...

EDIT2: @KPS - cIOS has nothing to do with loading from the original disc. IOS are used when launching originals from the disc channel.

We modded the wii's the same day, so I must be the same. The HDD has no autosleep function. It's so frustrating, cause I have no idea how to fix it. Is there a way to restore the wii to it original state and then try modding it again?

Im trying to grasp the above quote - Their HDD doesn't work on either Wii ? And your HDD works fine on your Wii, but not their Wii?

And no need to restore the wii to its original state. Modding again would just overwrite the old.

Uhm, I was looking over the ReadMe of the " D2x-v8-beta(r41), and it says only to be used with HomeBrew software... I'm trying to load the game through the disc channel. I have the physical disk, I bought it from the store.
