help with usb gx after update.

    hi guys.
i have a problem with usb loader gx recognising my hdd after i updated gx from r937 to v2.2.
usually when i select the usb loader from the main channel menu on the wii it took aprox 5 secs to load up but since the update it fails to recognise the hdd and just returns back to the menu again.
i will explain the steps i took below and if anyone could read them and maybe spot what i did wrong.
i downloaded the package usbloader gx all in one v2.2 and extracted the contents.
inside was 2 folders called apps and wad along with the changlog.txt and the read me.txt.
inside the apps folder was a subfolder called usb gx but on my sd the apps folder didnt contain a gx folder so i assumed my previous version of gx was installed as a channel so i left that folder be.
inside the wad folder was 2 wad files called usbloadergx-v2.2-unlr channel-abhprot.wad and gx uneo forwarder 3.0-abhprot.wad. also there was 2 other files called 249c.dol and forwarder 3.0.dol.
i transferred the usbloadergx-v2.2-unlr channel-abhprot.wad to the wad folder on my sd where the last wad for v937 was and then placed the 249c.dol onto the root of the sd.
i then deleted the config folder from the sd which contained the previous settings for usb gx and the boot.elf file.
i returned the sd back to the wii and launched wad manager v1.7.
i installed the new v 2.2 channel wad on 249 and it was successful.i returned to the main screen and tried to launch the loader but it takes 5 secs and just returns to the same screen again.

i can get this to work by placing the usb gx folder from the new package in to the apps folder on my sd,installed the gx uneo forwarder 3.0-abhprot.wad. and placed the forwarder3.0.dol file to the root of the sd.
i can now launch gx through the hbc and it loads up the hdd no problem and works perfectly.

i would like to fix this back to the way it was as i have young children and i dont want them entering the hbc to launch it as they are both under 5 and were comfortable using it the old way.i maybe removed a file i shouldnt have or missed a step.i backed up my sd before any changes so i have still got the files i deleted.
any help in righting this is greatly appreciated.
    thanks.
    scorzeze.

You can grab any wad file revision from HERE if you want. Download the .wad file to your SD card-place the wad file in the Wad folder. Now, put the SD card back into the Wii, go to HBC, run Wad Mgr, leave it at its default settings of IOS249 and SD card slot. Select the WAD directory and install your USB Loader GX revision wad file.

Did I come off like a jerk?? Read more here

the usb gx package i used is the same as the 4th one down in the link you provided only i got the package from wii hacks usb loader gx thread.
i left wad mgr at its default settings also, nand disabled,sd card slot, install wad etc etc and it came back saying the wad installation was successful.
if i repeat the steps again surely i will have the same result?.
i think i removed a file from the sd that i shouldnt have and thats why its not working?.

ok after a lot of searching it appears i need ios 58 installed in order for the forwarder to work.
after i install this wad i believe i have to reinstall the hbc.
if anyone could answer the questions below i would be grateful.
can i install this wad using wad manager v1.7 on 249?.
can i just update the hbc rather than reinstalling it?.
also when i install the wad to forward the app where do i place the .dol file.would the root of the sd do or do i need to place it in a folder?.
my hbc is v1.0.6 and ios 61 v21.29.
    thanks in advance.
