USB Loader GX alternate dol selection hangs with FAT32 drive

4.1u completely modded wii (dogeggs guide, to the letter) cIOS 17, Hermes v4, USB Loader GX rev 938. Was happily using a WBFS formatted drive for awhile, but it seems like the new trend is to move things over to FAT32. I'm (mostly) glad I did, I gained almost 20GB of free space on the drive in doing so (don't ask me why, but I'm not going to complain). The downside is, alternate dol selection in USB Loader GX no longer works. I go select a dol->select from list->hang. The background music still plays, but nothing else happens, the pointer is frozen and I have to hard-shutdown the wii. I've also tried cIOS 14 & 19 with no change. I'm not sure what else to do/try at this point, as I'd rather not make things worse, but it's really annoying as there are a handful of games that require the alt-dol load. Suggestions (besides "try another loader") are appreciated, thanks.

You may want to try re-dumping those games. Try with one and see if that fixes the issue and if so, move on and redo the rest.

It happens with multiple games, not just 1.

I DID try dumping 1 game that requires an alt-dol to a WBFS-formatted flash drive, of course it worked fine. So that proves the dump is good, and my findings I've already posted.

Try it on a FAT32 formatted flash drive and see what happens. Did you do a quick format of the HDD or a full format?

    No change, it hangs.

PS: it's not just this wii, I've encountered the exact same problem on 2 other wii's as well.

The only other thing I could recommend is freshly re-dumping from the actual game disc. The problem obviously isn't with your loader or your cIOS. Going from one type of format to another may be messing with the dump somehow since the dump was originally made on WBFS.

Don't know why you wouldn't try another loader (if only to eliminate that being the issue). GX and FAT32 do not mix well, try Configurable USB Loader. Then if no luck, no harm done and you have eliminated a reason.

Tried, no change. Also tried doing an alt-dol with a game that I know doesn't need an alt-dol loaded, and it hangs with that as well.

I didn't say I didn't try another loader, I just want to keep this thread on topic. I much prefer USB Loader GX, plus GX is setup the way I want it/like it/etc.

    Well, did you try Cfg?

Sounds like It is not searching for the dol or it is failing to find one. What game (name a few).

I have never had this happen on any wii I've modded. I would also reinstall all my cIOS (can't hurt).

Yes, any (that need an alt-dol or don't need an alt-dol) and I've already tried cIOS 14/17/19 and 20 (if that counts as re-installing).
