    DVD Not Found/1048 Error

Hey guys I'm new to soft-modding but I think I understand the basics. I followed this tutorial to softmod my wii, ready for playing back - ups:

Ok, so here's my problem. I burnt Mario Kart onto a TDK DVD-R and got it to run with Neogamma the first time I placed the DVD into my Wii. After that, I couldn't run it. I persistently got the "Read Error 1048" Error. I then tried using GeckoOS an received the "DVD not found" error. Any ideas?

How old is your wii? If you recently got it, you probably have the D3-2 drive (making it so you cant read backups on discs) you'll have to use usb loading instead

I checked my Wii version to it's corresponding drive, it's not the drive that's the problem...
As I said, it ran the game once, why would it stop after running it once?

If the drive's ability to read is beginning to fail it could happen. They do go bad or lenses get dirty.

I seriously doubt that could be the cause :/ I only got the console just over a year or so ago, I didn't play it much, only got 4 games. I decided to soft mod it yesterday, other than that, the console's been dormant for many months...

Yea, I doubt it to, but that doesn't mean it isn't a possibility. Especially if it was dormant in a dirty, dusty area or around alot of smokers. Again, this is just a possibility (not gospel), all we can do is offer them up and let you take the info into consideration.

Guess the above wasn't a double post... xD

There aren't any smokers in the house, the only thing it could be is dust gathering. Any ideas on how to clean it?

OK, I tried burning another game so I don't think it could be a bad ISO. It ran when I first tried and then stopped working, with a 1053 Disc Read Error in NeoGamma. Really looking for help now, any suggestions?

Try burning game to different DVD-R. I have had problems getting TDK to work myself. Try sony DVD-R you can buy at any Walmart and they work great.
