i use usbloadergx its so simple to use i dont think anybody can mess up.

    simply
    load usbloadergx
    insert disc
you get a option to copy it to hard-drive
select yes and within 8 to 10 min, <depending how large the game is> the game is in your hard-drive

Configurable USB Loader is the fastet for me, because it's the only usb loader I use.

They all rip at the same speed.

I thought that too...as far as all ripping the same ...I use lodergx for everything but ripping...it takes forever (like 30 min) a game so I use wii flow which is like 10-15 it seems....for me anyway. Most seem to rip at 2mb a sec but GX goes down to around 0.1 or less for me at times.

If usb loader gx takes that long then you have issues with something, it should rip at the same speeds as the rest of the usb loaders.

You should reinstall the cIOS, make sure to use cIOS38 rev17.

i've got an externally power drive (300 gig barracuda sata drive in a sabrent enclosure) and a wd my passport (300 gig also). it seems to me that the powered drive is faster in general but both work fine. i use the passport in the wii now. freed up a cord on the power strip and it doesn't seem to get as hot. but i would think the ripping would be limited to the spped or writing and reading. the software can't make that big of a difference in this case.

    I used
http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html to install on my 4.2u system yesterday and I am using the usb loader gx app that came with the files in that guide. the external hdd was bought yesterday and it is the western digital 500gb my essential passport. I have updated to cios38r17 this morning and it's a little faster now, but still running kind of slow... I am only getting .2mb/s... is this the normal rate? or is something still messed up?
