GameCube Backups - black and white rolling screen fixed, maybe.

I've seen too many posts about members getting a black and white scrolling screen when trying to boot a GC backup multiISO disc. So I decided to get to the bottom of this issue.

I too was getting this problem with multiISO discs when using Gamecube Backup Launcher 0.2, this launcher does not seem to work with multiISO discs. GameCube Backup Launcher Xi 0.1 does work with multiISO discs, but there's more. The latest NeoGamma r9 beta47 does also work with multiISO discs. It is a rather simple fix with the region settings. But any NeoGamma version may work, r9 beta47 is the version I happened to test.

The fix - in the NeoGamma configurations, Force video to "Wii". Now the disc is ready to boot.

That was simple. Now, anybody that was having this problem please reply and tell if this fixed the problem for you.

Seeing that you're the author to this tutorial, perhaps a time for an edit to include this (if not already)?

Hey stomp, I used to be a member of another softmod site. I used their guide to softmod my wii, then another to install a mios and backup launcher channel. At the time, I knew nothing about any of this stuff, just how to follow directions.
Anyway anytime i would load the gamecube launcher channel, I would get a rolling screen. This happened just from the channel itself before I even had a chance to launch it. I posted the problem in that forum and was given a file to install, which I did. Ever since I can launch multi iso disks through the disk channel just fine and through neogamma as well, but they still roll on that gamecube launcher,s o I don't use it.
Multi iso disks run great either from disk channel or neogamma, never tried a single game backup, just multi iso.
I have no other issues, but I often wonder, what the heck was that file they gave me to install as I can't find it on my pc anywhere.

Have you heard of the rolling screen on the channel itself and if so any fix for it?

It has been asked in this forum a few times, not often, but I sure would like a solution to tell others if they have this problem.
Sent from my van, down by the river.

It's in there, right below the download button. I made sure to post there before making a new thread, but felt that some members may not read it again, which prompted me to create this thread.

Initally I thought that the GCBL 0.2 wad from dogeggs collection was out of region, but then I downloaded the dol file from filetrip and it has the same problem. So, I'm thinking that GCBL 0.2 doesn't like multiISO discs or it doesn't like NTSC consoles. I always used GCBL Xi so I couldn't understand why so many members were getting a black and white screen, and just assumed it was an out of region problem, which it probably is, but pressing the Y button didn't work for forcing NTSC with 0.2

with GCBL 0.2 I get a b&w rolling screen when I install a multiISO disc and the GCOS is displayed, but a single game disc boots fine. I think that there is a problem with the launcher 0.2 not displaying the correct region with multiISO discs. Also, the Xi launcher boots a multiISO disc fine.
