    Update during softmod

    Hi,
I'm want to softmod my wii, but unfortunately I currently don't have access to wi-fi. During the process I have to update to 4.1, because I'm on 3.3E firmware. But can I update to 4.0 instead? Do I need still need the internet connection, even if I used the file found in the 4th point in the "New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii" guide? This one, to be exact.
Thanks in advance for any help

You'll need to update to 4.0/4.1 manually.

Still install the IOS60patched as per the guide but instead of running Firmware Updater you will need to install System Menu 4.1E. You can obtain System Menu 4.1E by using NUSD to download it. http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...ownloader.html

Also in future do not post the same question in mutliple places. Decide which section is best sauited to your question and post just once. Multiple posting are annoying and devalue the information provided in response. It's also a pain in the behind to keep deleting them.

When I try to run NUSD, it give me an error "The application couldn't be intiated properly (0xc0000135). WHat should I do?
PS: I'm currently downloading Microsoft NET framework. Will get back on the issue if that doesn't help.

It should help. You'll need NET Framework for other apps anyway.

Also, in the NUSD guide it says "When installing System Menu ALWAYS install IOS first, then System Menu." That ios is IOS60 mentioned in the guide, correct? Or is it some other one?

If I screw up any part of the installation, will the Nand buckup save me?

Already covered that. Seeing as you already have the file it cuts out an operation, especially one you could do incorrectly.

NAND backup will only be good if you can access bootmii. If you have bootmii/IOS then don't rely on your NAND backup.
