USB loader GX and ripped games

I have noticed when I rip games from a backup to my usb drive using USB Loader GX that occasionally they freeze so far I have experienced this with 3 games. One was kind enough to tell me that it was trying to read the disc. This then made me realise what was wrong. Some of the games ripped have not installed properly as they work again once reinstalled anyone else suffering from this and if so is there a fix?

Have you tried another loader? I use wiiflow and never ever had problems.

Download wiiflow here: WiiFlow USB Loader - Downloads
    Choose full version.
    Unzip downloaded folder.
You will be left with 3 folders (ignore text files) apps, WAD and wiiflow.

In the apps folder there is wiiflow_249, rename this wiiflow and put it in apps folder on your sd card.

In WAD folder there is a WAD called WiiFlow StarNight Channel Forwarder-WSNF.wad put it in WAD folder on your sd card.

Put wiiflow folder that is left straight on your sd card root.

You should alreay have WAD manager.

So here is how to install.

Go to homebrew channel, go to WAD manager, click A until in install page, highligh wiiflow wad and install it.

That is wiiflow ready for your hard drive.

I agree emuhack, but have you not noticed that 90% of problems people are having with usb loading are using GX? I have used wiiflow on 40 wii's now and only one person had problems but that was due to them deleting the dol in the apps folder.

I've installed wiiflow, i'll give it a go.

As far as I am aware I am using the latest version of USB loader, the channel says that no updates are available.

The channel itself is fine, I think this is more a problem with the games being ripped from backups and wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

Cool getting 5-8 gig ISO Wii files...

Arghhh me hearties...just a conumdrum to share with you laddies arghhh...here is my mysterious problem...see if u can help...
I use USB Loader GX to rip / backup/ "install" by pressing the plus sign on the software GUI, I place an Original Wii gamedisc to the USB enclosured WD Harddrive then 30 minutes later I get a big fat chunky WBS ISO file sized 6-8 Gig on my USB HDDrive!

Next I used WBFS Manager 3.0 on my XP laptop and locate the USB HDDrive and the game WBS ISO file and then I click "Convert to ISO", then I wait for about 20 minutes and I get a rar ISO but about the same size as the original WBS ISO. That means heck I need a dual layer DVR-R black media to burn the newly created ISO. Something not right I thought so I googled abit and found this solution explaining something about scrubbing the original WBS ISO to 4 Gig size.

I found Wii Backup Manager version 0.3.4 Coded by Fig
I click my USB HDDrive then pick the original 6 Gig WBS gamedisc ISO then click "Convert to ISO" then 20-30 minutes later I have a nice lean 4.3 Gig sized gamedisc ISO !!!

Then I burn this new leaner ISO using my trusty Pioneer DVR-108 using blank media TDK at x4 speed and using a fantastic programme called ImgBurn version 2.5.0.0 Coded by Lightning_UK ,who by the way used be the man with DVD Decrypter ,which still is a great program if I might say so myself except they "the movie studios" closed it all down !! Arghh shiver me timbers..

Anyhooo my question is how come when I "install", rip /backup my original Wii gamedisc from USB Loader GX to USB HDDrive it only ends up giving me huge fatty lardy WBS ISO files? Should it not give me smaller sized ISO files? Have I not done something right or used the correct settings of the programme???

By the way the burned backup Wii gamedisc ISO works and loads via NeoGamma.

Another mysterious and good creepy thing is that my Wii has the dreaded dvd-rom D3 version 2 circuit board. And before you ask I have checked inside the innards and found no 3001 IC, no epoxy as there is no chip to cover with the black blob, the large IC 2001 has no writing at all therefore it must be a D3v2 drive and circuit board. I have only softmodded as per the great guide found here o Wiihacks from a virgin 3.4E to 4.1E and have no modchip onboard.

The other amazing and double mysterious thing is that I can load the Datel ActionReplay original disc for PAL Gamecube via NeoGamma and use it to load and play an out of region Original USA NTSC games as well as Original PAL gamecube games. Of course if I try to load this Datel ActionReplay disc from the Wii disc channel it does not work.

So what the heck is going on I ask myself and you moderators and fellow chaps.

ps once I get my LG GDR-8163B or 8164B I will attempt to backup my gamecube disc and then burn it onto 1.4 Gig mini disc and see if it will load via NeoGamma. From what I have read so far it is confirmed that no gamecube burnt backup disc can be loaded by any current general USB loader.

I once had a problem using USB Loader GX, switching to Configurable USB Loader fixed that problem.
