Homebrew backup loader An error has occurred. press the eject button

Hello all I'm new to this and have spent days searching the forums,
You guessed it, I'm getting the famous "An error has occurred. press the eject button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual"

    but with a twist...

I have 3.2E firmware installed and have installed Homebrew with Backup Loader 0.3 and followed the instructions closely. I have downloaded the sign checker which tells me that I have cIOS_249.wad,gameplayer.wad and iso16.wad installed. HBC and downloaded apps work perfectly, my problem is the backup loader.

I have downloaded the Ashes 2009 cricket ISO and F1 ISO in which there are many posters saying that the ISOs are fine and works so I know it is not corrupt. I bought the best TDK DVD-R and have tried different burners and I have an LG burner.

I'm burning at 2X speed and using IMGBURN.

My problem is different, the backup loads correctly and I can select the profile and game options etc, the error occurs at exactly the same place - when the game starts loading (or about to start).

I have run Wiibrick through the ISO and made sure the region is correct for my PAL system (02) and even run it through regionfrii. I'm out of ideas and frustrated. What would be the cause of the backup loader loading fine until a specific point in the disc everytime - not matter what variation I try? any ideas?

Update your backup loader to Neogamma latest and see if that helps, if it doesn't help then change your media to Verbatim. I believe Neogamma is available for download in Homebrew Downloads section.

Tealc, thanks so much. I loaded neogamma which was complaining about my ios revision at 6 when it should be 14. I decided to then reinstall HBC using the excellent guide "New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii" which enabled the correct revision (14). It now works great with my TDK-R and as expected games will not load using princo-R.

I now have a "duplicate" upside down HBC (the old one) and I would like to remove it. Is this easy?

Yes. You should be able to see it in your Channels settings screen. You can also remove it using Any Title Deleter, deleting the HAXX channel, but beware ATD will allow you to remove things you really shouldn't.
