Configurable USB Loader freezes on loading games

    Hello!

My Wii was running 4.2 before I installed the Homebrew channel (although it shipped with something much earlier), and I am trying to backup my games onto a hard drive and play them without the disks in the Wii.

So far, I have followed these guides (in the order I list them):

    1. GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial: IOS249
    2. GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial: Hermes' Ios222/223
    3. GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial: Usb Loader

And they have all installed successfully AFAIK. Configurable USB Loader successfully makes the backup of the games and saves them to my hard drive. It is probably unrelated, but the partitions on my hard drive are:

    • OS X HFS+ (500GB)
    • OS X HFS+ (400GB)
    • NTFS (50GB)
    • WBFS (50GB) - Originally FAT, but I reformatted it using Configurable USB Loader

So far, I have backed up Crash Bandicoot - Crash of the Titans and SSX Blur. When I go to load any of them, it says this:

    Code:
    SSX Bur
    (RSXP69) (1.03GB)

    Booting Wii game, please wait...

      IOS(222) nload .....
While it says this, the blue LED flashes a few times around the disk drive, then everything just freezes. I can still reset the Wii if I press the Reset button on the console.

What have I done wrong? How can I fix the situation I am in so these backups will work?

    Thanks so much.

I have tried using USB Loader GX to see if I can get any further with that, and I am afraid I cannot. When I go to load a game, the screen just stays blank and I have to reset the Wii by holding down the power button for 5 seconds.

I have also read somewhere that the IOSs may be stubbed or something like that, but I did what I though would fix it (reinstalling them) but it still does not work.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I would love to be able to backup my games.

    Lightbulb

I followed the Tutorials from GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial had the same problem but fixed it...
It was basically a wrong IOS installation..

    Here's how I fixed mine..

    # Run apps/ATDM/boot.dol from the Homebrew Channel
    # Select IOS250 as the IOS to start and push A to confirm.
    # Navigate to "System Titles" and push A to confirm
    # Select "IOS222" and push A to delete then A again to confirm.
    # Select "IOS223" and push A to delete then A again to confirm.
    # Select "IOS249" and push A to delete then A again to confirm.
    # Select "IOS250" and push A to delete then A again to confirm.
    # Push Home to exit AnyTitle Deleter Mod
    # Now run the IOS249 app and choose to install IOS250
    # After the installation is done it should exit automatically.
    # After it exits, restart the Wii then run the cIOS 222 Installer app.
    # This time choose IOS250 to perform the install with!
    # Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and choose the first (default) option
    # Wait for download and installation to complete
    # Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
    # Select IOS250 to perform the install with again!
    # This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
    # After the installation your games should work perfectly fine..

    Goodluck

Hey i Know this tread is old but I'm sure other people look at it still. I was having the same problem all day to day racking my brain for an answer and it just hit me not 5 minutes ago. Make sure your WBFS partition is set as a Primary and not logical I literally wet through countless threads doing different things that they say work and none of it was working and it just hit me out of nowhere when i pulled an ISO of the drive and it worked with neogama. Hit the thx button if this helps anyone out there

Make sure your WBFS partition is set as a Primary
This is a step in the guide on how to set up a hard drive for use with usb loaders. It is important to not skip any steps in the guides and tutorials, as you may experience undesired results.
