Few Question's

Hey folks, was wondering what is the latest verion of the GC and Wii backup loaders that are compatible with version 4.2...

Also do games have to be burnt to discs to play or can the USB slots at the back of the console be used and if so is an Ipod compatible?

Yes, you can use the slots behind the Wii (The one right next to the edge, to be precise.). You can use USB Loaders to start games from an external hard-drive. A popular one would be USB Loader GX. The hard-drive would need to have a WBFS partition.
Or, you could browse a USB Flash stick (with one partition) with something called WiiXplorer.

Now, about iPods. I'm not sure if anyone actually made an application that is "iPod-friendly". I've been able to charge one, though.

Thanks for your reply, i understand most of it but say i but a external harddrive, how do i know it has WBFS partition or is that something you do whtn you get it suchas formatting it...

also what is the max size (if there is a max) that an extrnal HD or USB stick can be that still acts compatible...
