    To quote the readme:
Support for DVD USB Devices: It can run only DVD backups from .iso (original don't work because DVD drivers donīt support the Wii format). Remember you must insert a DVD to work at start the program. See "Mode DVD USB" below in this readme for more details
This may be good for the new Wii's that will not read backups.

That had nothing to do with my question, and far from answered it.

Can I boot GC backups off an external usb dvd drive using this (uLoader 3.5)?

Yes it did, you plug in the external USB dvd drive and this loader will recognize it as long as there is a backup disc in the drive, there for booting your backups from your USB dvd drive. What don't you understand. I'm sure you will still need to have a patched MIOS.

Well sounds like no ones tried anything on this yet so I went ahead and found a guide on how to install it.
I can confirm on my black 4.2e D2-3 drive Wii that uLoader 3.5 does not boot Wii or GC backups from an external dvd-rom drive, the regular burned backups and just iso file on a disc, neither works.
This app does nothing for me, am i safe to uninstall what it made me install to get it working?

    cIOS202-v4.wad
    cIOS222-v4.wad
    cIOS223-v4.wad
    forwarder-UMRD wad
    and the uloader channel?

    thanks.

I like to test new stuff, but I don't own an external DVD drive, and I have tried uLoader before (not impressed with uLoader).

Where did you get the cIOS wads, I didn't see that included in the download. Perhaps you should use what was included in the package to get it working.
