Us Band Hero OEM (Not Backup) Black Screen on Softmoded Wii, HELP!

Hi Guys I have a soft moded wii and just bought a Band Hero Package. The Game did not work, Stuck On Black Screen, so I was reading the forums to find help and I followed some tutorials that people had problems running the backup (not my case)... So I installed Cios 38 Rev 14, Ios 222 with 38 merged with 37, later Ios 223 with 38 merged with 60, then, Wad Manager 1.5 to install USB loader fowarder UCXF, and also the NeoGamma 7 loader.

No matter what I do it does not read the damn game. NeoGamma also gets stuck in the black screen, Usb loader gives me error 1 ( of course, i am not running out of a HDD on USB) and the Game channel on wii says SYSTEM UPDATE.

Should I just do the Factory Wii update and wipe my softmod? My wife bought the $199 package and she is almost killing me for messing with the wii! lol...

Help a desperate husband trying to save the marriage!

    Thanks for all

I use the NTSC Band Hero with ISO 222 (IOS38 merged with IOS37) on Wiiflow 1.1 R25, you have to use the 222 loader for it or you get the black screen. I'm running cIOS38 R14 and Firmware 4.1 from the Waninkoko updater. Works good for me. You may want to try this combination and just run it off the HD.

I used this to get the 222 loaded, also loaded the 223 while I was at it.

It Worked! Installing SoftMod Chip and running the Original DVD using IOS56-64-v5146.!

    Thanks...

Now, another problem.... I did something trying to get the Band Hero to work that now my Disc Channel shows Wii System Update on every Disc. Is there something I can do to remove that?

    Thanks!

There are some games that do include a disc update which you would be prompt to do once you start the game. You can bypass all disc updates by simply installing preloader and having it set up to bypass them.

I Had Pre-loader in the past, and never uninstalled it but I installed a buch of stuff to get my Band Hero to work, Now even my older Original Dvds like MArio Kart are showing "Wii system update" in the disc channel... so should I just Re-install preloader from the HBC ?

Just as matter of curiosity... What happens If I do a Wii System update on a Soft Moded wii like mine? Thanks

just power on the console while holding reset
    preloader menu should come up
look around hacks or settings and make sure disc update block is enabled
    Hope this helps

I just run Brick Blocker on all ISO's I use and run everything off the HDD. I have never had a single one ask if I want to update including Band Hero and it works fine. I have all my games on the HDD. Easier then switching disks all the time. Also you can just load the Wiflow 249 and enable 222 in the options for the games that need it.

But you cant rely on brickblocker to work on every game. Preloader set up to bypass disc updates will work everytime though. Another thing to remember is that everytime you upgrade/downgrade your firmware, you need to reinstall preloader. Obviously if you are still getting asked to update when trying to play a game, you either dont have preloader installed or have it installed but dont have updates bypassed set up.

HmmmI didn't know there were games it didn't work on. I have tried over 150 and haven't been asked to update anything yet. I like to keep the system as stock as possible. Keep the firmware as new as is practical (4.1) and use the newest cISO (full release so r14, haven't tried r15 yet though) and brick block everything :P
