    Black/White Wii Softmodding

    Hello all,
I softmodded my white wii about 4/5 months ago using DoggEggs tutorial and it worked a charm, i also already had the wiikey 2 installed.

Now i told my neighbour about it and hes asked me if he bought a wii for his son for xmas, would i do it. now im hear asking for some advice...

what id like to know is:

can all black and white wii's be softmodded to play all backups without a chip installed? or its it only certain black wii's and all whites???

Also if he bought a black wii then would it be ok to follow doggeggs tutorial again???

Thanks guys and thanks again for the brilliant help i had last time I had help.

    BG

I have the same doubts - tommorrow my new black wii is coming (nice set with motionplus etc.)
I have previously succesfully softmoded my old white wii (4.2), now I want to give it away to a friend, and keep the black one. But I wonder if softmodding will be so smooth with this one. If anybody already installed gammaloader on the black one?

All wiis to date can be softmodded. That's not the issue. The issue lies in a new chip set that won't read dvd-r discs. Usb loading works with all though. I'd tell him to get an older model if possible

Yes. The new chipset prevents any backups from being read
