Is there a way to get back to USB Loader GX menu when you want to exit out of a game?

Instead of using preloader or priiloader?

So many times my kids will go "oh, this isn't the game we wanted!" and then they hit the home key and go all the way back to the Wii menu and then into USB Loader and then go to another game.

I know that this can be done with preloader but I can't seem to get that to load so I was looking for an alternative.

    Thanks!

Hold the reset button when booting the Wii to load Pre/Priiloader. Currently I don't believe there is another method to booting straight to/from USB Loader.

You'll need to have the forwarder dol installed to the root of your SD card, which can be obtained from the Readmii for USB loader Here.

    Specifically, taken from the Readmii,

[1c] [Optional]Autobooting and returning to USB Loader GX

It is possible to boot your wii directly into the USB loader GX. The only thing you need for this is a wii app called preloader. First download the newest rev of the loader or even better, the forwarder (dol format, see downloads at the top of the readmii). Place the dol you get in the root of your SD card (no need to rename it to boot.dol). In the preloader menu, choose install file and choose the dol to install. When its done, go to the main menu of preloader (B) and then choose 'settings'. You have to change 2 options here: Autoboot=file and Return to=preloader. Save the settings, then launch the Wii menu in the main menu. It will boot into the USB loader GX!

You would need to implement some sort of system menu hack. Preloader/priiloader works very well- what is the trouble with it? Other than that perhaps starfall, but I don't know. I would focus on fixing preloader.

I can't seem to get Preloader to install. Here's what happens (I took this from one of my posts):

Ok, here is my issue. I've got a 4.2U (update via N so bootmii as an ios), everything is going good (knock knock) and I wanted to install Preloader 0.30r4.

Upon install I get the message " got root; unable to read ticket: aborting mission ".

Soooo, I read a bazillion posts and google and the only sensible thing it sounds like I should do is try to install 0.29 (Jodi version) then do the 0.30r4 again. When I tried to do the 0.29 I got the error "failed to get ROOT, the current ios(36) has the fake sign bug fixed".

    Any ideas? Thanks!

PS - I ran the IOS70 patch (from Messie) via the WAD manager.

The other suggestion I got was to DOP my IOS60 and when I tried to do that using DOP-IOS v7 I got a black screen with a bunch of white lines at the top third of it.

My next move was to either try dopping with v8 or maybe not doing that and just trying to use Priiloader and see if that works.

I'm still fairly new at this so I'm open to any suggestions you might think. Thank you!

Dopping ios60 wouldn't have much effect if it were successful, as it's used for 4.0-4.1 firmwares. Check out the 2nd link in my sig and go over section D6 again: Pay particular attention to changing the default IOS when you first load the program, as well as which IOS to dop.

v8 is the latest rev and is a bit nicer than v7 from what I remember of it. Make sure when using a program like DOP-IOS that you aren't deviating from the instructions in the tutorials. It's really easy to brick your system if you aren't sure what you're working with just yet. Take it slow, and come back if you still have questions.

Try to run the preloader installer using bootmii and cboot2.
You can download this and extract it to your sd-card, then replace the boot.dol on the card with the boot.dol of the preloader installer. Goto hbc and launch bootmii.

If that does not work do steps 1,b,c from this guide, then run the preloader installer again from hbc.

I'm not sure what cboot2 is?

I'm pretty sure I uninstalled the stub in 249 - your link is to the same one in Messie's guide to uninstall the stub in 249. Wouldn't I have done that already if I have cIOS38rev14 installed in there? Otherwise I wouldn't be able to run USBLoader, no?

Would you please let me know? I'm in engineering and am anal about needing to know why I'm doing something before doing it. I can't help it

It wouldn't let me - I got a black screen that had a bunch of white crap on the top third of it and it just stayed like that. Any ideas?

I'm going to try to install priiloader and see if for some reason that works and it was just some weird thing that preloader didn't.

Guess what? Remember that game that I was having the problem running that I asked you about? After I used that patched IOS70 - it miraculously started working!!! Weird, huh?
