What the beast was saying is, if you only have WBFS partition on your hard drive then you have to use a SD card. Some people want to run WiiFlow from HDD because it will run faster and all the covers art work will not have to be stored on the SD card. I have all my USB Loaders on SD card and that's fine with me too. Eventually, I will get a bigger HDD and will partition it so I can get more use out of my Wii. To answer your question, having your loader and it's folders and files on the SD card will work fine.

I downloaded and copied wiiflow to my SD. I am using WF249 type wad. One will not load, another one too slow and the last one is fast. All of them will load from HBc though. But none of them have pictures of the game title though. My Wad Manager on PC shows them well.

    Anyone seen this behaviour?

    Thumbs up

I managed to get the channel working. Downloaded and used the Starlight249.wad from the Wiiflow 1.1 full version. (not the forwarder wad)

hi, have you tried changing the hard drive to the other USB port on the back of the Wii, if the Wii is laid down you need to use the bottom port, if the Wii is stood up in the stand you need to use the inside port, its the same port either way but trying to make it clear. this worked for me when loading new mario. Don't ask me why but it only works in 1 port for me.

Okay thank you for your reply, can you just confirm that even thou I have my loader stored on the actual sd card that I would need to make a fat 32 or is it fat ?? partition on the HDD itself and this way all my artwork / titles will be stored on there as opposed to them being stored on the sd card, again with just keeping the wiiflow loader on the sd car itself ??

any idea what I should realisticly make the fat or again is it fat32 ?? partition size for just storing around 25 covers / titles ??

also, have two wiiflow channels showing on my main wiiflow menu - wiiflow and this starynight ( ?? ) theme one, although both are showing up when I click into them nothing happens, I actually haveto go into my homebrew channel to access ios249 wiiflow to access wiiflow.
obviously I have the sperate channels set up with them both being shown within the main menu but just wonder what else I need to do to enable me to access wiiflow from there particular location ??

I'm new to Wiiflow (and the whole wii hacking thing), but I did manage to get Wiiflow running just last night, so maybe I can help.

If you have room on your SD card for wiiflow data (Covers, themes, whatever else it uses besides the games themselves) then you do NOT need to have a FAT partition on your wbfs hard drive. The external drive I planned on using for this is having its own issues, so I used a 4 gig flash drive to test. Windows sees it as a removable drive, so does not allow multiple partitions, so I made it all WBFS. Works fine, other than 4 gig is way too small.

If you do have a FAT partition on your HDD, which is totally optional, it will default to using HHD:\wiiflow. If you want to use the SD card for this data, you have to modify the wiiflow.ini (as in the readme - copied in post 6 of this thread), to get it to use SD:\wiiflow. I haven't looked at the ini, so I don't know if you can change this default folder.

Hmm, and I just thought of something: If you want to use the SD when you have a FAT HDD, where do you put the wiiflow.ini to tell it to use the SD? If you put it i the SD, will wiiflow even see it before usng the HDD? Do you have to have a HDD:\wiidlow\wiiflow.ini file? Doesn't matter to me, maybe it's in the readme

not sure there, as I only have three titles and haven't looked at my SD card to how much space they take. However, WiiTDB | Home has a "3D Cover NTSC Pack" that is almost 80 MB unrar'd, with covers for 948 covers (US, KO, and JA), with each cover being around 80kb. Themes can also use some space, depending on which theme(s) you use, maybe a couple MB each. Default theme is nothing but an .ini file if you want to save space, and delete all the other theme .ini's and folders from the SD\wiiflow\themes folder. Something as low as 10 MB _might_ work (default theme, and the channel installed, but if you're creating a FAT partition on a big HDD anyway, you may as well go a gig or two: you might find a use for it later.

I had the same issue, the forwarder that comes with the "lite" version did nothing. As Trick1 mentioned above (thanks, Trick1!), download the full version package, and there are several Channel WADs to choose from. Do not use a forwarder version, unless maybe someone can tell us how to make them work (All four 249 versions work for me).

Perfect guys all working now so again really do appreciatet the excelent advice- thank you.

okay another small problem I now have is that I have two forwarder channels showing in the main wii menuwindow, any idea how I get rid off these non working channels, can I simply go into the main wii menu data managment and delete the channels from there ?? had a look and obviously they are showing up okay within the data managment channel screen delete / move etc but just a bit unsure if its safe enough to remove any homebrew this particular way ??

I notice also that the wiiflow starnight channel will not allow you to change themes, if you try the wii just stays on " waitting " screen, but I take it this is the idea off that particular channel ie. a direct link to this particular theme ?? the other wiiflow channel will allow you to change themes okay so thats fine.

so okay how do I delete the other two forwarer channels safely ??

I just use WAD Manager to uninstall them. Click on them the same as if you were going to install but press the right arrow to change it to uninstall

    Hi there,

I found that all I had to do was rename the Wiiflow folder in the 'wads' folder from 'Wiiflow249' to just 'wiiflow' and the channel that came with the lite version works great.

    Hope this helps.

You can use Wadmanager as mentioned above or you can use Wii Data Management/Channels/Erase.
