    That's kind of an incomplete case presentation. Have you already installed HBC and cIOS? Do you have the NeoGamma wad file and a copy of Wad Manager? If all of these mean nothing to you, then I suggest you start with one of the softmod tutorials. If your Wii is 3.1-4.1 follow this tutorial: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html. If you have updated to 4.2, then this guide is the one to follow: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/24630-full-hacking-guide-4-2-system-menus.html.

    If you have already softmodded, but for some reason blanked out on how to install a channel-the file comes as a .wad file and is installed using Wad Manager.

    Have you already began to softmod your Wii or are you starting from the beginning?

    right.... my goal is to get ISO38_rev14 and neogamma r8 working to play latest backups...i've been told this will fix Error 002 im getting on newer games........ however i have downloaded ISO38 -64-v3610.wad but it wont install (ret- =1) error.

    when connected to net my wii wants to install ISO36 (doesnt say anything about ISO38_rev14).... my thinking is that this could help get me closer to making ISO38 work....... but it pulls the data off the net until it hits a -1017 error.

    i have 3.4e pal wii...cIOS_249.wad and IOS16.wad installed......... i have been reading around it and get the feeling i need to down grade or uninstall cIOS_249.wad and replace with a newer one. Im not very good with all this stuff..... will i loose my current settings (which do play some backups from when i soft modded my wii 1year ago) and be unable to play old backups?

    any ideas mate?

    You have the the wrong file

    DOWNLOAD THIS cIOS38_rev14-Installer.rar

    and do this;

    a) Go to Homebrew channel and run Trucha Bug Restorer, load IOS36, press 1, read the warnings then select 'downgrade IOS15', select to load IOS from SD card then let it do its job, keep an eye on what it is doing and make sure you select 'load from sd card' when it asks & don't get any errors.

    b) Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, this time select to load IOS15 on first screen using dpad left/right, then select the IOS36 menu & install patched (select 'yes' on all 3 patches) IOS36 to slot 36, again using IOS from SD card.

    c) Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, load IOS36 and this time select restore IOS15.

    d) Run cIOS38 r14 installer, select IOS36 as the one it should use and then select wad install.
