USB Bootloader Advice - Issues with some games

A small selection of games are causing the Wii to emit a high pitch continual sounds and the game freezes, the only way to re-set this is hard power down.

This was caused last night loading Medal of Honor 2 via the USB bootloader sometimes it happens early on in the games sometimes a little later no pattern to the sudden crash.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Many other are running perfectly and the night before this dame game ran for some time before crashing out.

Any help or clues would be great

Thanks

Jase

Just to be clear. Is the Wii emitting the high pitched sound or is it the TV?

When things crash they will endlessly play the sound when the crash occurs. I've experienced this with deBlob but the sounds came from the TV and it was more of a lower pitch.

Is it a drive issue? Is your USB device going into standby? That can cause hangs and crashes.

Sorry yes the noise is emitting from the TV.

I am not sure if it is the drive hanging or not, this is only happening on Medal of Honor 2, it is a NTSC game not sure if that makes any odds.

But all other games that I have tested so far are fine so it could be an issue with this one. I tweaked some of the settings yesterday like patching and error code on etc and it ran for a lot longer than usual.

Also interestingly this games has arcade and mission mode it did not crash in arcade mode but it did in mission mode, but the arcade mode is faster so this could be something to do with drive going into standby like you mentioned.

I have not had much luck in running this from backup loaders (via DVD) the game loads to the point of wii safety clip (put on wrist strap etc) then looses connectivity with remote and wont reconnect unless I do hard power down.

It could be a fault with game or the fact it is NTSC perhaps ?

Any other clues appreciated thanks for getting back.
